Smith\u2063 Spills\u2064 the Beans on ESPN, Explains How\u2062 They Really\u200d Felt About Tim Tebow<\/h2>\n<p>According to \u2063one\u200d of ESPN\u2019s most \u2064<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/crt-experts-offer-advice-on-how-parents-can-fight-back-against-indoctrination-in-their-childs-classroom\/\" title=\"CRT Experts Offer Advice On How Parents Can Fight Back Against Indoctrination In Their Child\u2019s Classroom\">outspoken personalities<\/a>, his bosses were not fans of Tim Tebow during \u2064his \u2062playing days \u2014 \u2062no matter what sort\u2063 of ratings the fan-favorite QB\u200d may have brought with him.<\/p>\n<p>It is\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/nbc-news-covers-the-biden-administration\/\" title=\"NBC News Covers the Biden Administration\u00a0\">worth noting<\/a> that Tebow \u2063is currently an <a href=\"https:\/\/espnpressroom.com\/us\/bios\/tim-tebow\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ESPN employee<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Stephen\u200d A. Smith, the polarizing ESPN personality, took to \u2062his podcast on Thursday to address \u200dsome claims from his former partner in crime, \u2062the equally\u200b polarizing Skip\u2064 Bayless, \u200cwho now hosts a sports debate show for \u2064Fox Sports 1.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/top-espn-personality-stephen-smith-trashes-biden-praises-2024-republican-candidate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Smith<\/a> and Bayless \u200dworked together for years \u200bon ESPN\u2019s \u201cFirst Take\u201d\u200d before \u200cthe latter ultimately \u2064left to pursue greener pastures at Fox.<\/p>\n<p>Where does <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/tebow-warns-discretion-advised-posts-heart-wrenching-video-trafficked-children\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tebow<\/a> \u200dcome \u200bin? Smith reveals ESPN's true thoughts on Tim Tebow.\">convoluted tale\u2064 begins 10\u2064 years ago<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Back in 2013, Bayless got into a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=j6x-O3kb1sI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/rocky-psaki-new-white-house-press-secretary-off-to-bumpy-start\/\" title=\"Rocky Psaki: New White House Press Secretary Off To Bumpy Start\">testy exchange<\/a><\/a> with Seattle Seahawks superstar Richard\u2062 Sherman on \u201cFirst Take.\u201d Sherman has since retired from\u2062 the NFL and\u200d is \u2063now a\u2063 rotating co-host on Bayless\u2019 debate \u2062show \u201cUndisputed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The two discussed their infamous 2013 spat on Monday\u2019s episode \u2064of the show.<\/p>\n<p>During their rehashing of the uncomfortable moment, Bayless\u2063 explained\u2062 that he had largely held his tongue against\u200d Sherman because he and Smith were \u200bon \u200bthin ice with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/inspiration-longtime-espn-host-quits-network-exercise-first-amendment-rights-freely\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ESPN<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2018First Take\u2019 at that point\u200b was on probation because we had had several incidents, fortunately not \u2063involving \u2062me. But we were one day away\u200b from our audition\u200b period, trying to\u200b stay\u200d clean,\u201d Bayless said.<\/p>\n<p>Smith\u200c responded to those claims on his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/live\/jV-mWnkoWIE?si=idXSYCO8IJswPRGD\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">podcast<\/a> \u2014 and that\u2019s when Tebow got dragged into this mess.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>According to Smith, Bayless\u2019 hands may have been clean \u2062of \u2062any \u201cincidents\u201d on \u201cFirst Take,\u201d\u200c but that doesn\u2019t \u2063mean ESPN executives \u200bdidn\u2019t take any issue\u200c with him.<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cThe part that Skip Bayless left out was the fact that the bosses at the\u2064 time didn\u2019t care [about the growing success of \u2018First Take\u2019],\u201d Smith said.\u2064 \u201cThey had remembered that\u200b Skip\u2064 Bayless lived off\u200d of talking \u200babout Tim Tebow every day before I arrived. [The public] had accused Skip Bayless of being a \u200bcaricature of\u2063 himself.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd even though \u200dSkip was incredibly proud \u200bof his Tim Tebow \u200bcoverage, \u2026 the bosses weren\u2019t necessarily\u2064 enamored with it.
