Their aim is to challenge the constitutionality of these standards under the \u2064First and 14th Amendments.<\/p>\n<p>The DEI standards, which were adopted in 2022 by the State Center\u2064 Community College District, have raised concerns among professors. They caution against using\u2063 academic freedom\u2064 to hinder \u2064equity or\u2064 cause curricular trauma for students.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the standards require professors to possess knowledge \u2062of\u2064 the \u200dintersectionality of social identities and the \u2062various forms of oppression \u2064faced by individuals \u200dfrom different racial,\u200b ethnic, \u200cand other marginalized groups.<\/p>\n<p>FIRE&#8217;s press release highlights that\u200b these regulations &#8220;explicitly\u200b require professors to pledge allegiance to contested ideological\u2062 viewpoints.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This is not the first \u200btime the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/california-community-college-profs-sue-state-over-dei-teaching-mandates\/\" title=\"CA Community College Profs Sue State Over DEI Teaching Requirements\">community\u2064 college \u2062district<\/a> has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/josh-duggar-pleads-not-guilty-to-child-porn-charges-former-19-kids-and-counting-star-to-remain-in-custody-until-may-5-hearing\/\" title=\"Josh Duggar pleads not guilty to child porn charges, former \u201919 Kids and Counting\u2019 star to remain in custody until May 5 hearing\">faced legal trouble<\/a> regarding First Amendment violations.
