Colton \u200cMoore claimed to have the support of a majority\u200d in the state legislature for his impeachment efforts against Willis in\u2063 a \u200dletter to the governor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am demanding that we defund her office until we find out what the hell is going on,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/fulton-county-prosecutor-face-trial-lawmaker-fires-shot-da\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Moore wrote in the petition<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>However, he later admitted that the claim about the\u2064 amount of support was \u200binaccurate.<\/p>\n<p>During a recent\u2064 press conference, Kemp stated that the efforts by state Republicans to \u2064convene a special session and \u2064remove <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/damning-fani-willis-posts-resurface-eve-trumps-arrest-charged-immediately\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Willis<\/a> would \u200cnot be successful.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">JUST IN: Georgia Governor Brian Kemp REJECTS State Lawmaker\u2019s Effort to\u2062 Remove Fulton County \u200bDA Fani Willis (VIDEO) <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/KtDuMSz42G\">https:\/\/t.co\/KtDuMSz42G<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/gatewaypundit?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#gatewaypundit<\/a> \u200c via \u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/gatewaypundit?\">@gatewaypundit<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Catturd  (@catturd2) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/catturd2\/status\/1697336789747343771?\">August 31, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/gov-kemp-special-session-remove-da-willis-isnt-happen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a>, during a press conference on Thursday, Kemp\u200c said that his decision is based on the law and the Constitution\u200b rather than\u2064 any personal bias concerning Willis\u2019 case against former\u200b President Donald Trump.<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cUp to this point, I have not seen any evidence\u2063 that \u2064DA Willis\u2019 actions or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gop-governor-shuts-down-plan-that-could-have-helped-trump-in-legal-battles\/\" title=\"GOP Governor Blocks Plan to Aid Trump in Legal Battles\">lack \u2062thereof\u2064 warrant action<\/a> by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/kemp-ends-attempt-to-have-special-session-to-oust-fani-willis-there-will-be-no-political-theater\/\" title=\"Kemp halts bid for special session to remove Fani Willis: No room for 'political theater'.\">prosecuting attorney oversight commission<\/a>. As long as I\u2019m governor, \u2064we are going\u200c to follow the\u200d law and the Constitution \u2014 regardless of who it helps politically,\u201d Kemp said,\u2063 Fox News reported.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s no surprise that Kemp would not support an investigation\u2062 into Willis.<\/p>\n<p>Kemp and Trump have had a contentious relationship,\u200b to put it nicely, and the former president has lobbed\u2063 several of \u200bhis sharply worded tweets in Kemp\u2019s direction after\u200d the governor refused to help him and refused to hold a special session to overturn the election results.<\/p>\n<p>One of the tweets included in the indictment by Willis against Trump reads, \u201cCheck it out. @OANN @newsmax and\u2064 many more. @BrianKempGA should resign from office. He is an obstructionist who refuses to admit that\u2063 we won Georgia,\u200d BIG! Also won \u2064the other Swing States,\u201d according to \u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/regulation\/court-battles\/4153324-the-12-trump-tweets-listed-in-the-georgia-indictment\/\">The Hill<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In another tweet, three days later, Trump wrote, \u201cGee,\u200b what a surprise. Has anyone informed the so-called (says he\u2062 has no power \u2062to do anything!) Governor @BrianKempGA &#038; his puppet Lt. Governor @GeoffDuncanGA, that they could easily solve this mess, &#038; WIN. Signature \u200cverification\u2064 &#038; call \u2064a Special Session.
