Meanwhile, public trust\u2064 in \u200bthe Supreme Court has\u2064 reached new lows.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats are demanding that the Supreme Court adopt a code of ethics, particularly due to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/local-sheriff-ousts-incumbent-republican-in-mississippi-us-house-primary-runoff\/\" title=\"Local Sheriff Ousts Incumbent Republican in Mississippi US House Primary Runoff\">alleged ethical lapses<\/a> by conservative members such as \u2062Justice Thomas and Justice Samuel Alito.\u2063 Some officeholders and activists even\u2064 call for Justice Thomas&#8217;s impeachment and removal\u2064 from office.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats are \u200cparticularly\u200b upset about\u2062 the luxurious vacations and tuition support \u2062for \u200ba grandnephew provided by Mr. Crow, as well as low-cost \u2062real estate purchased from Justice Thomas&#8217;s family. Justice\u2064 Thomas had not previously disclosed these events, claiming he was advised it was not required, but he has \u2063now committed to disclosing such events in\u200b the future.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Democrats \u2062are pushing the proposed Supreme Court Ethics, Recusal, and\u200c Transparency Act (SCERT) of\u2062 2023 (S.359), introduced by Sen. He \u2063also attended \u2063a second AEI conference in Dallas in May 2022, where transportation\u200d and meals\u200b were provided.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Thomas further disclosed that he received transportation, meals, and lodging \u2064for a speaking engagement in Salt Lake City in March 2022, hosted by\u2064 the Hatch Center.
