They have \u2064recently\u2062 approved the first generics of Vyvanse, a medication used to treat ADHD, in order to address the ongoing shortage of this much-needed medicine in the \u2062United States.<\/p>\n<p>The \u200dFDA made\u2062 the\u2064 announcement on Aug. \u200d28, stating\u200d that\u200b they have \u200dapproved several generics of Takeda Pharmaceutical&#8217;s drug Vyvanse. These generics \u2064are now available \u200dfor individuals aged\u200d 6 years and older with ADHD, as well\u200d as \u2062for adults with moderate and severe binge-eating disorder.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;FDA-approved generic medicines work in the same way and provide\u200b the same clinical benefit and risks \u200das \u2062their brand-name counterparts,&#8221; the\u2063 FDA stated in a press release.<\/p>\n<p>Following FDA approval, various pharmaceutical companies, including Mallinckrodt and Viatris in the U.S., Hikma Pharmaceuticals in \u200cthe United Kingdom, and\u2064 Sun Pharmaceutical in India, \u200dhave\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fda-approves-1st-generics-of-vyvanse-amid-adhd-medicine-shortage\/\" title=\"FDA approves first generic versions of Vyvanse to address ADHD medicine shortage.\">started shipping copycat versions<\/a> of Vyvanse. \u2064These generics come\u200c in both capsules and chewable tablets, with dosages ranging between\u2064 10 to 70 milligrams.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s important to\u2063 note that these \u200bgeneric\u200c drugs are classified as controlled \u2062substances, and the generic drugmakers are working closely with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to ensure compliance.<\/p>\n<p>Takeda\u2063 Pharmaceutical, the manufacturer of Vyvanse, has acknowledged the shortage of their product on\u2063 their website. \u200cThey attribute the\u2064 low inventory of 40 milligrams, 60 milligrams, \u200cand\u2064 70 milligrams of Vyvanse capsules to a manufacturing delay compounded by increased demand.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Supply of the \u206340mg strength will\u2064 dip in mid-June and will be replenished in\u2062 a few\u200b weeks. \u2064The impact to the\u2064 60mg and 70mg \u2064strengths is expected to \u2062begin in late June or early July and continue into September,&#8221;\u200c Takeda stated.<\/p>\n<p>They also added, &#8220;It is \u200dpossible\u200c that an increased demand on other dosage strengths\u2062 of Vyvanse \u200bmay occur, resulting\u2064 in localized shortages of \u2062these other strengths.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2695447\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\">\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2018\/10\/21\/boy-working-homework-1200x800.jpg\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><\/noscript><\/figcaption><\/a><\/p>\n<p>    Research has\u2063 linked magnesium\u200d deficiency with attention deficit hyperactivity\u2062 disorder. People with ADHD may have trouble paying attention, controlling impulsive behaviors,\u2062 or being overtly \u2062active, according to \u200dthe\u2062 FDA.<\/p>\n<p>The FDA has been warning \u200babout the ongoing shortage of \u2064<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/these-medications-are-in-short-supply\/\" title=\"These Medications Are in Short Supply\">amphetamine mixed salts<\/a>, \u2064commonly known\u200d as \u200dAdderall, since last \u2063year.
