The activists also each face a $350,000 fine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom the\u2064 beginning, this \u200ctrial has been a sham with \u200da completely biased pro-abortion judge who has made a mockery of our justice system,\u201d Live Action founder Lila Rose <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.cbn.com\/news\/us\/horrific-precedent-doj-convinces-dc-jury-jail-5-pro-life-late-term-abortion-protesters\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> in a statement. \u201cThis decision will be appealed, and we demand it be overturned. These activists are heroes,\u2064 and\u200d the Department of\u200b Justice has acted capriciously and illegitimately.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Daily Wire host <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/podcasts\/the-michael-knowles-show\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Michael \u2062Knowles<\/a> said Wednesday on \u201cThe Michael Knowles Show\u201d\u200b that these five\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/seattle-suburb-backs-down-from-ban-on-abortion-clinic-protesters\/\" title=\"Seattle Suburb Backs Down From Ban on Abortion Clinic Protesters\">pro-life demonstrators<\/a> are \u201cpolitical\u2062 prisoners.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe evil \u2064apparatchiks in Washington, DC, are imprisoning these five patriots for this simple act of demonstrating against abortion,\u201d Knowles said. \u201cThese five pro-life activists \u00a0demonstrated in\u2064 defense of babies at an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-full-timeline-of-the-fiery-candace-owens-cardi-b-feud\/\" title=\"The Full Timeline Of The Fiery Candace Owens\/Cardi B Feud\u00a0\">abortion mill<\/a>, <em>an infanticide factory<\/em>, \u200band for \u200bthat they face\u2064 more than \u200ca decade in prison.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The activists engaged in a sit-in demonstration at the\u00a0D.C.-based\u200d Washington\u2062 Surgi-Clinic late-term abortion facility in October 2020. According to \u2064reporting from\u00a0CBN, \u200bthe demonstrators sang songs, prayed, \u200clocked arms in front\u2063 of the facility\u2019s staff entrance,\u200b and attached themselves with ropes and chains to block\u200c doors \u200binside\u200c the building\u200d in an effort to \u201cdelay \u200dthe\u2064 murder of kids,\u201d \u2062the activists said.<\/p>\n<p>The \u200cFACE Act,\u2063 a Clinton-era rule, makes it a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/mark-houck-catholic-pro-life-activist-facing-11-years-in-prison-acquitted-at-trial\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">federal crime<\/a> to injure,\u2063 intimidate, or\u200d interfere with anyone due to their status as an abortion provider.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Surgi-Clinic \u200cis particularly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/undercover-footage-allegedly-exposes-gruesome-details-of-d-c-abortion-clinic-practices\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">controversial<\/a> \u200cdue to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/anger-erupts-after-biden-doj-gets-5-pro-life-activists-convicted-thrown-in-jail\/\" title=\"Outrage as Biden DOJ Convicts and Incarcerates 5 Pro-Life Activists.\">recent undercover footage allegedly showing suspect practices<\/a> by staffers, including making\u2062 women take Xanax before meeting with an abortionist\u2063 and giving\u2062 final consent.<\/p>\n<p><b data-stringify-type=\"bold\"><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Moreover, in March 2022, authorities were called to the home of Handy, one of\u200c the activists\u2063 convicted on FACE act charges, to recover the bodies of five premie-size aborted babies. Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PAAU) activists told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/i-went-to-the-clinic-of-the-dc-abortionist-accused-of-gruesome-crimes-heres-what-i-saw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Daily Wire<\/a> they intercepted a box of aborted babies that was on its way from Washington Surgi Clinic to Curtis Bay\u200d Medical Waste Facility\u200b to \u200cbe incinerated.<\/p>\n<h3>Attorneys Fight for Justice<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Attorneys at Thomas More\u200d Society \u200bfiled an emergency motion Wednesday \u200cwith the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia asking \u2064the \u200cCourt to reconsider its \u2063order detaining\u2064 Handy while she awaits sentencing.
