On September 2nd, the college will host its first-ever home game \u2064on campus\u2063 at the brand-new Sherbeck Field.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s hard to believe that Fullerton, a \u200bfootball powerhouse since 1916, has \u200dnever played a \u200dhome game on its own turf. But now, they finally have a place to call their own. (Courtesy of Fullerton College)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>The lack of a dedicated football venue was primarily due to the proximity of Fullerton High and other nearby sites.\u200d But now, being on campus brings numerous\u200b advantages. Athletic Director Scott\u200d Giles highlighted the increased engagement, \u200c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/tx-gov-greg-abbott-boycotting-major-league-baseball-over-georgia-wont-throw-rangers-opening-pitch\/\" title=\"TX Gov. Greg Abbott Boycotting Major League Baseball Over Georgia, Won\u2019t Throw Rangers\u2019 Opening Pitch\">special events<\/a>, and alumni involvement\u2062 that will come with having \u200dtheir own field.<\/p>\n<p>Not to mention \u2062the logistical benefits of \u2063ownership. \u200bNo\u200c longer will they \u2062have to rely\u2064 on rented facilities and deal with the uncertainties\u200d that come with it.\u200c Mr. Giles emphasized,\u200d &#8220;It&#8217;s nice to have\u2063 ownership, \u200cwhere you have control.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Getting approval for \u200bthe project was a lengthy process, facing opposition from some community members. However, the scaled-down plans and \u200b<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/long-awaited-home-football-opener-set-at-fullerton-college\/\" title=\"Fullerton College's home football opener is finally here!\">modern \u200ctechnology helped address concerns<\/a> \u2064and ensure a successful outcome.<\/p>\n<p>While the new facility\u2063 will primarily serve football, \u200bit may also be used for soccer, track, \u200band lacrosse. As a former \u2064Fullerton player and son of an assistant coach under Sherbeck, this achievement holds special significance for him.<\/p>\n<p>The stage is set\u200c for Fullerton College to make history on their own turf, and \u2063the anticipation is palpable.
