Some \u200cof us would literally whisper in the corner or even in the\u2062 bathroom because we couldn&#8217;t speak our minds too loudly.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Expressing her frustration, Steele added, &#8220;It&#8217;s insane and goes against everything that people preach about equity, tolerance, inclusion, and acceptance. These words are thrown around, \u2063especially in corporate America, but when it\u200d comes time to actually live by them, that&#8217;s where the problem lies.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In another interview, Steele emphasized that the controversy arose because she complied with the rules.\u2063 She stated, &#8220;I can have an \u2063opinion about things,\u200c especially if I&#8217;m complying with the\u200d rules to get the\u2062 shot that I adamantly did not want to get. It&#8217;s about consistency. If my peers can freely express their\u2064 opinions\u200d on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/coalition-pushes-to-boycott-beijing-olympic-games-citing-treatment-of-uyghurs-tibetans-and-hong-kongers\/\" title=\"Coalition Pushes To Boycott Beijing Olympic Games, Citing Treatment Of Uyghurs, Tibetans And Hong Kongers\">political matters<\/a> like Roe vs. Wade on ESPN airwaves, then why can&#8217;t I \u2062talk about my experiences as a biracial woman or\u2062 my decision not to get the vaccine?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Steele stressed the importance of\u200b consistency, particularly as a parent. &#8220;Even if you don&#8217;t like the rules, if they&#8217;re consistent, then it&#8217;s clear. That&#8217;s what saddens\u2064 me the most because it didn&#8217;t have to be this way.
