Players on \u2064the field and spectators scrambled for cover as the gunfire began.<\/p>\n<p>Oklahoma County \u200cSheriff Tommie Johnson announced that deputies working with other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/oregon-governor-encourages-people-to-call-police-on-neighbors-violating-covid-orders\/\" title=\"Oregon Governor Encourages People To Call Police On Neighbors Violating COVID Orders\">law enforcement agencies<\/a> took the suspect into custody without \u2062incident early on Wednesday. <\/p>\n<p>The suspect\u2019s \u2064name has not been revealed due to his age. <\/p>\n<p>On\u200d Wednesday, Johnson stated that the 15-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with the killing of 16-year-old Cordea Carter and two other wounded victims. <\/p>\n<p>Authorities \u200balso stated that Carter, who was not an enrolled student at either school, was shot in the groin area and later died after losing too much blood.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, a 15-year-old girl was wounded in the thigh and was quickly brought to a local hospital. She has \u2064since been treated, released from the hospital, and is \u2062now recuperating.  <\/p>\n<p>An unidentified 42-year-old man\u2064 was also\u2064 shot in the chest during the game by an off-duty Del City police officer\u200c who was running security at the game. <\/p>\n<p>The Oklahoma County Sheriff\u2019s Office\u2062 reported that the\u200b officer had apparently \u201cperceived a\u200d threat\u201d from the 42-year-old man before firing \u2063his weapon at him.\u2063 Authorities also stated on Monday that the man \u2064remains in critical condition and are still in the process of investigating the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fbi-says-biggest-domestic-terror-threats-in-2021-are-violent-extremists-motivated-by-race-or-anti-authority-views\/\" title=\"FBI Says Biggest Domestic Terror Threats in 2021 Are Violent Extremists Motivated by Race or Anti-Authority Views\">officer-involved shooting<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Choctaw Police Chief Kelly Marshall announced that the investigation is ongoing, however, no other\u2063 suspects are currently being pursued.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m confident that we\u2063 have \u2063the prime suspect in custody,\u201d Marshall said, declining to discuss the case further. \u201cThere\u2019s \u200ca whole lot more of this investigation that needs to be \u200ddone before any\u2062 other information comes out.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote data-service=\"twitter\" data-category=\"marketing\" data-placeholder-image=\"https:\/\/c3.oann.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/complianz-gdpr\/assets\/images\/placeholders\/twitter-minimal.jpg\" class=\"cmplz-placeholder-element twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Sheriff Johnson says an off-duty Del City\u2063 police officer was working the Choctaw High football game and shot a 42-year-old in\u2063 the chest.
