The prosecutor, \u2064Fulton\u200b County District Attorney Fani Willis, alleges that their actions \u200din\u2063 organizing\u200b a \u200cslate of alternate\u2063 electors to cast ballots\u200d constituted a &#8220;criminal racketeering enterprise&#8221; \u2062and conspiracy.<\/p>\n<p>President Trump\u2063 is the fourth defendant to plead not \u200dguilty. By entering a plea early, they waive\u2063 their right to appear\u200d in court\u200d and\u2062 will not be at \u2064the scheduled \u2063arraignment.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike \u2064President Trump&#8217;s previous arraignments, the Fulton County arraignment was \u200dset to\u2064 be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/us\/judge-allows-televising-of-trumps-arraignment-in-georgia-5479167\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">televised.<\/a> Judge Scott McAfee \u2064had on Aug.\u200d 22 agreed to allow \u200bcameras into the courtroom during the proceedings at the request of four <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wheres-fauci\/\" title=\"Where\u2019s Fauci?\">local television stations<\/a>, between \u2064Aug.\u200d 23 and Sept. 8.<\/p>\n<div class=\"lazyload-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-placeholder\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<h2>4th Plea<\/h2>\n<p>This marks\u200d the fourth time \u200dthe\u200b former president has pleaded not guilty this year:\u2064 In April, President Trump\u2063 was charged with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-pleads-not-guilty-in-fulton-county\/\" title=\"Trump denies guilt in Fulton County.\">allegedly mishandling business documents<\/a>\u2062 in New\u200d York and pleaded not guilty to 34 counts. \u200dIn June,\u200c he \u200bpleaded not guilty to\u2062 37\u200d counts in \u2063a Florida case prosecuted by special counsel Jack Smith over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-launches-2024-presidential-bid\/\" title=\"Trump Launches 2024 Presidential Bid\">allegedly mishandling classified documents<\/a>, and \u200bpleaded not guilty to\u2064 an additional\u200d three charges \u200din August.<\/p>\n<div class=\"shortcode\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-placeholder\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In Washington,\u2064 D.C., \u2064President Trump pleaded \u200cnot guilty in August in another case prosecuted\u200b by Mr. Smith,\u2063 over his challenge\u200c to \u2064the 2020 election results. The case is similar to the one in Fulton County, but \u200bis being tried\u200d in federal court.<\/p>\n<p>The presiding judge, District Judge \u200cTanya Chutkan, has decided\u200d on a March 4, 2024 trial date. Notably, it is the same\u2063 trial date\u200b Ms. Willis in Fulton\u200b County originally proposed before the Washington date was set.<\/p>\n<p>The Fulton\u200c County \u2062trial date has not yet been decided by a judge.\u2062 Ms. Willis \u200chad said she intended to try all 19 defendants\u2064 together, but the defendants have begun \u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/us\/trump-judge-respond-to-fulton-county-das-october-2023-trial-proposal-5480217\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">severing their cases<\/a> \u200b from one another, citing differences in their schedules.<\/p>\n<p>On Aug. 23, President Trump surrendered at \u2062the Fulton County jail \u2064where \u200dhe was released on\u2062 $200,000\u2064 bond. Local \u200dofficials insisted all \u206419 defendants be treated as\u200b any other local criminal, and the \u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/us\/after-4-indictments-trump-has-first-mugshot-taken-in-fulton-county-5480277\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">first ever mugshot<\/a> of a President of the United States was\u2062 taken. The \u2063photo was released about an hour afterward, and quickly went\u2063 viral. \u2062The mugshot went up on President Trump&#8217;s campaign \u2062donation website and social media, including for his first X (formerly Twitter) post since 2021, with the caption &#8220;Never Surrender,&#8221; and merchandise featuring the mugshot quickly followed.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Willis&#8217;s case rests on the fact that the former president, his\u200b attorneys,\u200d the alternate electors named, and several others believed\u2064 that President Trump had lost the election \u200cin Georgia in 2020, \u2064and &#8220;knowingly&#8221; acted to overturn a true<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former President Donald Trump and 18 co-defendants have entered a not guilty plea in Fulton County, Georgia.
