Colton Moore (R-Ga.) told One America News. \u201cThey elected me to do my \u2064job as a state senator, and a state senator has\u2063 a legislative duty to put a check and balance on rogue judicial and executive \u2063officers. Colton Moore (@realColtonMoore) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realColtonMoore\/status\/1696997736392876460?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 30, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script type=\"text\/plain\" data-service=\"twitter\" data-category=\"marketing\" async data-cmplz-src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script> <\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>In order to\u2063 call for\u200c an emergency session, Moore <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oann.com\/newsroom\/georgia-state-senator-seeks-impeachment-of-fulton-county-da-fani-willis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">needs<\/a> to acquire signatures \u2063from\u200b more than \u2157 of both the state House and \u200dSenate. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cRight now, I only have three other \u200bsignatures,\u201d Moore said. \u201cThere\u2019s three signatures in total calling for this emergency special session.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Moore blasted other state lawmakers for not \u200dbacking his initiative.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cMy constituents\u2019 tax dollars are\u200b still funding Fani Willis,\u201d Moore said. \u201cAnd all it takes to defund Fani Willis of Georgia \u2063tax dollars is a simple majority. We have 33 Republican senators. We only need 29 to defund her. Why\u200c we have not taken \u200baction on that is mind-boggling to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Trump appeared to have\u2062 agreed, hammering Willis for not addressing Fulton County\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/they-only-go-after-donald-trump-trump-releases-lengthy-statement-blasting-investigation-against-his-organization\/\" title=\"\u2018They Only Go After Donald Trump\u2019: Trump Releases Lengthy Statement Blasting Investigation Against His Organization\">high crime rates<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cFailed DA Fani Willis, who\u200d has allowed Fulton County\u2064 to become a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pres-trump-pushes-georgia-state-lawmakers-to-back-push-to-defund-fulton-county-da\/\" title=\"Trump urges Georgia lawmakers to support defunding Fulton County DA.\">record \u2062setting murder<\/a> and violent crime Warzone with\u200b almost \u200dno retribution for those murders, shockingly indicted your\u2063 favorite\u2063 president, me, for a perfect phone call,\u201d said Trump. \u200c\u201cShe\u2064 is very bad for America. She is very bad for Georgia.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Moore says he may even face repercussions for\u200b backing Trump in this fight.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a little talk in the news today \u2064that they may even vote me out of the caucus,\u201d Moore told OAN. \u201cI\u2019m trying to take out Fani Willis and\u200b Republicans want to talk\u200c about voting me out\u200b of their Senate caucus.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Moore reiterated that he will \u2062not back down\u2064 from this fight. He says holding Willis accountable is \u2064a \u2064logical first step to restoring justice in the country. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThis is so much bigger than Donald Trump,\u201d said\u200b Moore. \u201cIt\u2019s so much bigger than our fellow \u200bsenators.
