The president runs a campaign to convince the entire country \u200cof over \u2064300 million citizens to support his\u2063 program and vision for the country and, once elected, chooses 4,000 people to\u2064 staff the country\u2019s administration.<\/p>\n<h2>How\u2064 to Recapture \u200cInstitutions<\/h2>\n<p>Mr. Rufo holds that people \u201chave been lulled to\u2062 sleep \u2063by libertarian fantasies\u201d that\u200c gave them the false\u2062 impression that a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/how-partisan-politics-captured-and-fractured-the-evangelical-industrial-complex\/\" title=\"How Partisan Politics Captured And Fractured The Evangelical-Industrial Complex\">good moral choice<\/a> is to\u200c remove governance and \u201cto opt\u200c out \u2062of institutions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>These theories condemn the government\u2062 as something that must be diminished in size and does not merit people\u2019s active\u2064 participation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is insanely destructive,&#8221; \u2064Mr. Rufo said.<\/p>\n<p>To recapture the institutions, conservatives need to summon the spirit of governance\u2063 and\u200d statesmanship, Mr. Rufo argued. \u201cWe need\u200d to\u200d actually have the strength, the \u2063confidence, and courage to\u200b govern.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Society needs people \u2062who are going\u2063 to\u200d run the\u200d functions of government, companies, universities, and colleges,\u2064 Mr. Rufo added.<\/p>\n<p>If people \u200breally\u200c want to\u200c have things like artificial \u2062intelligence or\u200b tech \u200dcompanies that are\u2062 consistent with\u2064 their values, they have to start new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/5-virtue-signaling-corporations-trying-to-prove-their-wokeness\/\" title=\"5 Virtue Signaling Corporations Trying To Prove Their \u2018Wokeness\u2019\">venture capital firms<\/a> and\u2064 found new companies; they have to\u200c pass new laws and speak out\u2064 more loudly, Mr. \u2062Rufo said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cConservatives cannot \u200cmerely retreat\u2063 to private \u200cbusiness, private life, and think that they&#8217;re \u200dgoing\u200c to have a country that reflects their values. Conservatives have to get\u2062 out of the corner.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Rufo believes that the greatest problem\u2062 for the right is not the left but\u2064 the \u2064right itself. \u201cIt&#8217;s only\u2064 self-limitation that is \u2063our ultimate limitation,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<div style=\"margin-left:0;margin-right:0;max-width:1200px\">\n<figure style=\"width:1000px;margin-left:auto;margin-right:auto\" class=\"alignnone\"><figcaption>Los Angeles Unified School \u200dDistrict&#8217;s teachers are\u200d encouraged to obtain badges, \u201cpronoun pins,\u201d and LGBT history posters from the district\u2019s \u200dHuman Relations, Diversity &#038; \u2062Equity\u200d office.\u200c (Screenshot via Los Angeles Unified School\u200b District)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<h2>Vulnerabilities \u2063of the Left<\/h2>\n<p>The modern left that has deranged American institutions in recent years\u200c has two critical vulnerabilities, Mr. Rufo \u2064asserted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne is that \u200dwhenever these ideas gain power, their \u2062practical consequences are visibly \u2064counterproductive\u200d or visibly yielding negative\u200b results.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For example, when Black Lives Matter&#8217;s demands to defund the police, reduce police \u2063forces, or release prisoners are implemented, they bring negative outcomes\u200b in the form of \u2064crime, mayhem, and fear, Mr. Rufo said.<\/p>\n<p>When the public feels that these ideas do \u2063not work, that \u2063creates an opportunity, Mr. Rufo explained.<\/p>\n<p>The\u200b second vulnerability is that \u201cthese \u200bideas are often not \u2062obtained democratically,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The\u200d changes and policies \u2063that disrupt institutions were achieved undemocratically, in an extra-parliamentary manner, Mr. Rufo pointed out.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Rufo gave the example of\u2063 the \u200bdiversity, equity, and inclusion\u2064 (DEI) bureaucracy in\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/us\/texas-legislature-gives-final-approval-to-a-bill-banning-dei-at-public-universities-5298986\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">public universities in \u200bTexas<\/a> to\u200d illustrate his point.\u200d \u201cThe\u2064 voters have \u200dnot approved this. They have \u2063not asked for\u200c this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He\u2064 believes that \u201csavvy\u200c conservative \u2064politicians\u201d\u200d will address this \u2063discrepancy between the desires of voters and the ideology of the bureaucracies\u2064 that are supposed \u200dto serve\u200c the public interest.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey will marshal the majority and democratic sentiments, translate it into the legislative language to reform these institutions,\u201d and get rid of left-wing ideologies such as critical race\u2063 theory and DEI bureaucracies within public institutions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn a\u200b republic, the people decide what the public \u200cinstitutions will be doing\u200c &#8230; through their\u200d duly elected \u200blegislators.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Cultural Revolution<\/h2>\n<p>Many Americans intuitively \u2062sense that\u2064 the country\u2019s institutions are off-kilter and the culture \u200dis under\u2062 attack from ideological forces, but it is very hard for \u2063most \u200cpeople to describe\u2063 what it is and where\u2064 it came from, Mr. Rufo said.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Rufo\u2064 believes that \u2062America is undergoing a \u2064cultural revolution, alluding to \u2063the Cultural Revolution\u2064 that took place in\u200c communist China under Mao Zedong in\u2064 the 1960s.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/article\/chapter-3-mass-killing-in-the-east-2552407\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chinese \u200cCultural \u2064Revolution<\/a> \u2062 was a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/conservatives-need-to-recapture-institutions-subverted-by-neo-marxists-author\/\" title=\"Author argues for conservatives to reclaim institutions taken over by neo-Marxists.\">decade-long \u200dpolitical campaign considered<\/a> in some regards the most destructive of the Mao era. Its \u2062objective was the violent replacement of \u2064traditional\u200c Chinese culture with communist party\u2062 culture.<\/p>\n<p>In America and the West \u200bmore broadly, \u201cin the \u20631960s, the radicals \u2063of\u200c the\u2062 West took that idea\u2063 of cultural revolution from China, and they appropriated it\u200b and retrofitted it to fit the conditions and the politics of the West,\u201d said Mr. Rufo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey believe that you first have to go after the culture of a country like the United States, and then only \u2062then can you change \u200bthe politics of the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Rufo said that\u200d to counter \u200dthe \u200dcultural revolution happening now in America,\u200b a \u2064political movement, which he calls \u201ca counter-revolution,\u201d needs to\u2064 emerge \u2063that\u2062 takes\u200b the cultural revolution seriously and conquers it with a solution that matches \u200bits scope, scale, and\u2063 force.<\/p>\n<p>It is not enough to merely oppose \u200dthe cultural revolution\u2063 of \u200bsuch scale \u2064with incremental reforms, small \u200bpolicy changes, or a single election, Mr. Rufo\u200b pointed out.<\/p>\n<div style=\"margin-left:0;margin-right:0;max-width:1200px\">\n<figure style=\"width:640px;margin-left:auto;margin-right:auto\" class=\"alignnone\"><figcaption>Activists march on the one-year anniversary of George Floyd&#8217;s death \u200din Los\u2062 Angeles on May 25,\u200d 2021. He believes that four prominent thinkers of \u2064that school\u2014Herbert Marcuse, Angela Davis, Paulo Freire, and\u2063 Derrick Bell\u2014influenced American society the most.<\/p>\n<p>Herbert Marcuse, \u2062a German\u2013American philosopher, was the\u2062 leader of a neo-Marxist school of thought known as\u2062 the \u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/chapter-5-infiltrating-the-west_2562641.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Frankfurt School<\/a>, which\u200c was first associated with the University\u200d of Frankfurt\u2063 in \u2063Germany and later with Columbia \u200bUniversity in New York.<\/p>\n<p>Marcuse\u200d was\u200b also the grandfather for the \u200cso-called New\u200b Left,\u2064 which was a coalition of activists among students, Black Panthers, and Communist Party members that were gaining \u2062in\u2064 power and influence in the \u2064late 1960s, Mr. Rufo said.<\/p>\n<p>Angela Davis, a political activist, scholar, and author, was a graduate student of Marcuse, and an active member of the \u2063Communist Party USA and the Black Panther Party. She has advocated for \u2063the abolition\u200c of prisons.<\/p>\n<p>Paulo Freire was a Brazilian educator\u200d and philosopher,\u2063 and is best known for his work \u201cPedagogy\u2063 of the \u2063Oppressed.\u201d \u2063Freire&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/article\/chapter-twelve-sabotaging-education-part-ii-2657473\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">work<\/a> was focused on applying neo-Marxist \u200cideology to education, Mr. Rufo said.<\/p>\n<p>Freire applied in his theory the\u2064 Marxist archetype that divided the world\u2019s peo<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>American institutions, infiltrated by Marxism, require resolute leaders who are willing to take risks for the public good, according to researcher Christopher Ruso.
