Their main &#8220;revelation&#8221;? That Justice Thomas has a wealthy friend.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The ProPublica\u2064 report took issue with\u200b Justice Thomas for not disclosing his travel with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/los-angeles-d-a-gascon-launches-campaign-to-stop-right-wing-recall-attempt-from-trump-mega-donors\/\" title=\"Los Angeles D.A. Gasc\u00f3n Launches Campaign To Stop \u2018Right-Wing Recall Attempt\u2019 From \u2018Trump Mega-Donors\u2019\">billionaire real estate developer<\/a> on private planes, yachts,\u200c and at a private lodge. However, this travel \u200coccurred before the Supreme Court implemented new disclosure rules \u200bin March of this year. Thomas \u2064was not required to seek approval or disclose his \u2064itinerary to ProPublica or anyone else.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Despite turning a\u200c blind eye to ethics complaints against left-leaning justices, partisan critics have conveniently \u2063decided that Thomas&#8217;s relationship with GOP megadonor Harlan Crow is problematic. In fact, five House Democrats even demanded \u200dan investigation into Thomas&#8217;s\u200b connection with Crow.<\/p>\n<p>The New York Times also\u200d joined \u2063in the attacks against Thomas, providing excessive coverage\u200d of the manufactured scandal.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Crow&#8217;s relationship with Thomas has\u200d become the\u200c subject of numerous articles in the paper since ProPublica&#8217;s hit piece. However, the Times \u2063conveniently failed to mention that the \u2063late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg received a seven-figure \u200cprize from the Berggruen Institute and\u2064 distributed the money among undisclosed groups. The lack of transparency raises questions about whether she \u200cshould have recused herself from\u200d cases involving these groups.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It&#8217;s worth noting that\u200c Thomas was previously \u2064investigated for compliance with financial disclosure rules and was cleared of \u2064any violations in 2012. However, in a \u200csign of\u200d good faith, he has now applied the new rules retroactively.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The latest financial disclosure\u2064 reveals four trips in 2022, three of \u200dwhich were conferences where Thomas spoke as a featured guest. One of these conferences was \u2062held at a business center owned by Crow, and Thomas was given a courtesy flight back to Washington, D.C. on a \u2063private plane chartered by \u2064Crow due to an unexpected ice storm in Dallas.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Thomas&#8217;s disclosure also includes a speaking event in Utah where he was compensated for transportation, meals, and \u2063lodging. Additionally, he listed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bill-clinton-released-from-california-hospital-following-five-day-stay\/\" title=\"Bill Clinton Released From California Hospital Following Five-Day Stay\">week-long stay<\/a> at Crow&#8217;s property in \u2062New\u200d York&#8217;s Adirondacks, which he traveled to by private jet for security reasons following threats against conservative justices.<\/p>\n<p>Despite\u200c the hopes of ProPublica and The \u2063New York Times, Justice\u2063 Thomas&#8217;s latest filing \u2064fails to provide any scandalous revelations.\u200b It&#8217;s clear that the attacks on him are nothing\u2063 more than a partisan\u2063 feeding frenzy.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>from Democrats who view his conservative ideology as a threat.
