A\u2063 state committee recently voted to move the primary date earlier to March 19, putting the \u2063Keystone State in the\u200b spotlight.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, Pennsylvania&#8217;s primary is scheduled for\u2062 the\u2064 fourth\u2062 Tuesday in April, which falls well after Super Tuesday in\u200d March when many other states hold their primaries. \u200bHowever, \u2063this date coincides with the start of Passover, a Jewish holiday.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;In my\u2064 mind, the sooner, the better,&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Republican state Sen.\u2063 Dave Argall<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The State Government Committee unanimously approved the measure to\u200c move the primary\u2064 date, with \u2063Republican state Sen. \u200dDave Argall \u200dleading the charge. While March \u206426 and\u200c April 2 are also options, Argall favors the earlier date.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I was very pleased with the vote,&#8221; Argall told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. &#8220;It will give Pennsylvania voters a strong voice.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This change in the primary date could\u2063 have significant implications for the 2024 election.
