Negative health outcomes associated with the vaccines \u2062and a\u2063 loss of confidence in \u2063public officials have \u2062contributed to this hesitancy.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cPublic\u2062 opinion has swung so\u200c hard \u2062against the\u200d vaccines that I can\u2019t imagine a scenario where \u2062a significant amount of people are going to \u2062sign\u200b up for\u200c another shot,\u201d\u200b Dr. Bass told The Epoch Times. \u201cIf people have the \u200dchoice, they \u200bare going \u200bto say no.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<figure style=\"width:300px\" class=\"alignright\">\n  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"image.jpg\" alt=\"Dr. Kevin \u200cBass\"><figcaption>Dr. Kevin Bass. According to the FDA Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting \u200cSystem (VAERS) database, COVID\u2064 vaccines \u2064have been \u2063implicated in over 1.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cdc-removes-covid-vaccine-adverse-event-reports-from-website-report\/\" title=\"CDC reportedly removes COVID vaccine adverse event reports from website.\">5 million adverse event reports<\/a>. However, this number may be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/under-trump-americans-have-seen-their-best-wage-growth-in-40-years\/\" title=\"Under Trump, Americans Have Seen Their Best Wage Growth In 40 Years\">significantly higher<\/a>. A study \u2064funded by the\u2062 FDA and conducted by\u200b Harvard found\u200d that VAERS cases\u200b represent \u200dless than 1 percent of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/20-of-deaths-reported-after-covid-vaccines-related-to-cardiac-disorders-cdc-data-show\/\" title=\"20% of Deaths Reported After COVID Vaccines Related to Cardiac Disorders, CDC Data Show\">actual vaccine adverse events<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/digital.ahrq.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/docs\/publication\/r18hs017045-lazarus-final-report-2011.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pdf<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Last week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention&#8217;s (CDC) \u2064V-safe website abruptly stopped\u200b collecting adverse\u200b event reports without \u2062any explanation. As of Wednesday morning,\u200d the V-safe website states: \u201cThank you \u200dfor your participation. Data collection for COVID-19 vaccines concluded on June \u200d30,\u200d 2023.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Consequently, confidence in health officials has dropped from 44 percent to 34\u2064 percent over the past two years, according to a Gallup tracking \u2064poll \u200d(<a href=\"https:\/\/news.gallup.com\/poll\/508169\/historically-low-faith-institutions-continues.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">source<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>There are also \u2064concerns about the\u200b effectiveness \u2063of the new booster against emerging variants. While \u200bthe \u200cbooster is\u2064 designed to combat \u200cthe current COVID \u2062strains, it remains \u2064uncertain \u2062whether\u200b these \u2064strains will remain dominant \u200cor if a new variant immune to the booster, like the one circulating in\u200b Michigan, will emerge.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. \u2064Bass reassures that overall,\u2062 COVID cases \u2062remain significantly lower than in previous years.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cRight now COVID \u2063cases are\u200d going up a little \u2062bit, but they are still barely\u2062 a\u2064 blip in terms of mortality,\u201d said Dr. Bass. \u201cIt is still a possibility \u200bthat we will get\u2064 a\u2064 wave at\u2062 some point, but\u200d pretty unlikely.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>However, President Joe Biden recently stated \u2063that his administration will \u201clikely\u201d recommend the new COVID-19 vaccine for everyone,\u200b regardless \u2063of prior vaccination \u2062status.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI signed off this\u200d morning on a proposal we have to present to the Congress, a request for additional funding for a new\u200c vaccine\u2014that is\u200c necessary, that works,\u201d he\u2063 said \u2063during a\u200d press conference in South Lake Tahoe, California. \u201cAnd tentatively, not decided\u2062 finally yet, tentatively it is recommended\u2014it is likely to be recommended\u2014that\u200d everybody get it, no matter whether \u2062they got it before.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In April, the Biden administration announced a $5 billion investment\u2064 in the development of new COVID vaccines \u200cthrough \u2064Project NextGen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile our vaccines are still effective at preventing serious illness and \u200ddeath, their ability to \u200dreduce infections and transmission over time has diminished,\u201d stated a \u200dspokesperson from the Department of\u2062 Health and Human\u2062 Services when announcing the project on April 10.<\/p>\n<p>The CDC is scheduled to\u2064 convene on September 12, where a strong recommendation for the new booster is expected to be\u2063 issued.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>of Americans willingly choose to get the new COVID booster shot, unless it becomes mandatory.
