\u200cby Robie Harris, to \u200bchildren ages 10 to 12.<\/p>\n<p>This book includes discussion of anal sex, discussion of solo \u200dsex, cartoon images \u2064of\u200d solo sex,\u200d cartoon\u200d images of non-heterosexual sex, and radical gender ideology.<\/p>\n<div style=\"margin-left:0;margin-right:0;max-width:1200px\">\n<figure style=\"width:640px;margin-left:auto;margin-right:auto\" class=\"aligncenter\"><figcaption>Newly \u200bdonated LGBT books are displayed in the\u200b library at \u200cNystrom Elementary School\u200c in Richmond, Calif., on May 17, 2022.\u2063 (Justin Sullivan\/Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;How you feel, see, \u2064and describe yourself\u2014whether it is according to the \u2063sex you\u2062 were assigned\u2063 at birth or the \u200dgender you now feel \u2062and know you are\u2014is called your gender\u2063 identity,&#8221; the book reads.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/activists-persecute-mom-for-objecting-to-new-sex-ed-curriculum\/\" title=\"Mom persecuted by activists for opposing new sex ed curriculum.\">sex-ed \u2064guide offers teachers parent resource links<\/a> to Amaze.com, a sex-ed resource website with cartoon videos\u200b on gender identity and advice on \u2062feeling\u200b pleasure from\u200c solo sex.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;AMAZE envisions a world that recognizes child and adolescent sexual development as natural and healthy,&#8221; \u200dthe\u2062 website&#8217;s vision statement reads.<\/p>\n<p>The Benicia Unified School District (BUSD) voted unanimously to approve the curriculum, a\u200c school\u2064 board meeting video <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Mrqq76SkoeQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shows<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The district said it also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beniciafreedom.org\/_files\/ugd\/73bc3f_55fc48ea5fb146c48639a6bef96488aa.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">gave<\/a> \u2064 the curriculum to parents for them to view.<\/p>\n<h2>Punished For Public Comment<\/h2>\n<p>In an April 20, 2023 school meeting, Ms. \u200bRoberson said she opposed the \u2062curriculum.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Ed. Code 51933 requires that instruction and\u200b materials\u2062 should be appropriate for use of\u200b pupils of all races, genders, sexual orientations, and \u200bethnic \u2063and cultural \u200dbackgrounds,&#8221;\u200d she said, citing California law. &#8220;Teaching children\u200d about oral and anal sex violates this law since several cultures would \u2062not find this\u2062 teaching appropriate.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In the meeting, Ms. Roberson said she knew the curriculum had an opt-out option\u200d and that only three families \u200cvoiced concern about the\u2064 curriculum when it was under consideration. Even so, she said the curriculum was &#8220;a big concern&#8221; \u2064because it taught children transgenderism, took time away from math instruction, and introduced children to sexual\u2064 topics they weren&#8217;t developmentally\u200c ready for.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;People are not gender-fluid, and to teach our children this is not\u2064 okay,&#8221; Ms. Roberson said.<\/p>\n<p>After this meeting, Ms. Robeson&#8217;s life \u2064turned upside down.<\/p>\n<div style=\"margin-left:0;margin-right:0;max-width:1200px\">\n<figure style=\"width:640px;margin-left:auto;margin-right:auto\" class=\"aligncenter\"><figcaption>Transgender affirming children&#8217;s book in Irvine, Calif., on Aug. 30, 2022. (John Fredricks\/The Epoch Times)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Nathalie Christian, a story development coordinator for The Benicia Independent and \u2062treasurer of Progressive Democrats of Benicia (PBD), emailed Ms.\u2064 Roberson&#8217;s employer, Compass Real Estate. \u200dShe threatened them with bad press if\u2063 they didn&#8217;t fire Ms. Roberson.<\/p>\n<p>A Benicia\u2063 resident, Billy Innes, planned to write \u2063an op-ed in \u200cthe \u2062Vallejo Times-Herald about Ms. Roberson&#8217;s comments, Ms. Christian said.\u200d The article mentions that Compass employed her.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our\u2062 post \u200dwill \u2064(sic) reach between 1,300 and 1,500 people,&#8221; Ms. Christian said. She also said\u2062 the op-ed\u200b would\u2063 associate Compass with\u200c being &#8220;anti-equity, anti-trans, anti-Black, and anti-choice.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It seems unfair to \u200dme that Compass, whose DEI policies\u2063 I have reviewed at\u2064 length, would be \u2064associated \u200cwith such a hateful person,&#8221; Ms. Christian \u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beniciafreedom.org\/_files\/ugd\/73bc3f_b0cf62ef9e194af58da36f0831129c36.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The op-ed said Ms. Robeson might sell homes based on a &#8220;racial\/sexual \u200bpurity test.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Without providing proof,\u200b Mr. Innes said in \u2063his op-ed that\u2062 Benicia Freedom \u200bincludes content \u2062that &#8220;favors\u2062 eugenics.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In \u200ca public statement\u200b on \u200bthe parental rights \u200cwebsite \u200cBenicia Freedom, \u2063Ms. Robeson <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beniciafreedom.org\/_files\/ugd\/73bc3f_d7827b562c1647028b0e826d75bda354.pdf?index=true\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> Benicia Freedom doesn&#8217;t support eugenics.<\/p>\n<p>Benicia Freedom advises parents in the town on some of the radical racial and \u200dsexual material now promoted\u200d by local activists. Ms. Roberson created the\u200c site to protect local children.<\/p>\n<p>A search by The Epoch Times of the Benicia Freedom Facebook and website \u200drevealed no references to eugenics.<\/p>\n<h2>Denying Responsibility<\/h2>\n<p>In an online press release, PDB said they had nothing to do with Ms. \u2062Roberson&#8217;s firing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As an organization, we did not write any letters or contact \u2064her employer,&#8221; the group&#8217;s \u2064press release \u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/progressivedemocratsofbenicia.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reads<\/a>.\u200c &#8220;The letter \u200dthat was written to a local paper was not \u200cwritten \u2062by\u2063 a member. \u200bA\u2062 letter to her employer was written by a member \u2064but under her\u2064 own \u2062name.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The \u2062company\u2062 caved to \u2064activist pressure, letting \u200cgo\u200b of\u200b Ms. Roberson despite her excellent performance record, Ms. Roberson said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve spent tens of thousands of dollars branding myself to your company as a Compass agent,&#8221; Ms. Roberson said. &#8220;And now you&#8217;re basically pulling the rug right out\u2064 from under all of my business.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Roberson learned this information from a spy-movie-style clandestine drop, she said. One \u2063day, she checked her mailbox and found someone had dropped off printed-out copies of the emails at \u200bnight.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Some unknown person dropped off a \u2062bunch of \u2063printed copies of \u200cthese emails between the Progressive\u2064 Democrats of Benicia in my mailbox, where they were kind of high-fiving each\u2064 other about the fact that Compass did get rid of\u200d me,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<div style=\"margin-left:0;margin-right:0;max-width:1200px\">\n<figure style=\"width:640px;margin-left:auto;margin-right:auto\" class=\"aligncenter\"><figcaption>A gender-neutral sign is posted outside a bathroom at Oval Park Grill in Durham, N.C., on May 11, 2016. Davis\/Getty\u2064 Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;There is a difference between cancel culture and consequences,&#8221; Ms. Christian <a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/23932319-emails-from-benicia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> in a group chat with the Benicia Resist group. &#8220;I want to\u200d be\u2063 very clear\u2014this person is\u200d not being canceled. She is\u2064 facing consequences.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>On a phone \u200ccall, a representative of Compass also told \u200bMs. Roberson \u2063that the company let \u200cher go for political reasons, she said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Well,\u200b it&#8217;s\u2063 just this last week has been \u2063a lot,&#8221; she said the representative told her.<\/p>\n<p>The representative refused to elaborate, Ms. Robeson\u2063 said.<\/p>\n<p>However, after \u2062consulting a lawyer, Ms. Roberson said she has little legal recourse. Realtors are contractors, not\u2062 employees, so companies can \u2062let them go at any time, said Ms. Roberson.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I was\u2064 selling a lot of houses my prior year,&#8221; Ms. Roberson said. &#8220;I just came\u200b off a year where I&#8217;d sold over 7\u200b million, which is pretty decent. And Compass benefited from\u2063 that.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According \u2064to\u2064 Compass spokesman Devin\u200d Daly, \u2064the company\u200b didn&#8217;t disassociate\u2062 Ms. Roberson&#8217;s \u2063license.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Compass does not\u2062 make decisions about agents&#8217; affiliations with the company based on their personal,\u200d political, or social beliefs,&#8221; Mr. Daly \u2064said. &#8220;This person was not an employee of \u200bCompass\u2014she was an independent contractor who worked on an agent team, and\u2062 the decision to disassociate her license was made at the request of her team&#8217;s owner in April 2023.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>Fearful People<\/h3>\n<p>California law <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dmlp.org\/legal-guide\/anti-slapp-law-california\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">protects<\/a> individuals from facing\u200d lawsuits for \u2063speech about publicly significant issues.<\/p>\n<p>This law\u2063 makes it difficult \u200bfor Ms. Roberson to sue the people who organized a campaign\u200c of political persecution against her, \u2064she said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I \u2064am such a huge advocate of free speech,&#8221;\u2062 Ms.\u2063 Roberson \u2063said. &#8220;But in my particular situation, what \u2063it \u200bmeans is if I do go after the letter writers or the Progressive Democrats of \u2064Benicia, or the newspapers, it \u2064is very, very\u200d likely that I will lose, and tha<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In a win for far-left activists, a California mom was terminated for expressing her concerns about a new sex education curriculum at a school board meeting.
