Golden Bears Coach Chelsea Spencer provided a\u200d glowing recommendation for Yingling, who formerly starred \u2062at Great \u200bOaks High School in Temecula.<\/p>\n<p>Favre, too, is from the Inland Empire, having been a standout at\u2064 Riverside Poly \u2063High before spending two \u2062years each at Cal State Northridge and Texas-El Paso. She hit\u2063 .361\u200d with three home\u2064 runs and 37 runs batted in for the Miners last season.<\/p>\n<p>Two other \u200ctransfers, former Oregon\u200b State outfielder Kristalyn Romulo and infielder Abigail Salazar, who played the past two seasons at Alan\u2062 Hancock Community College in Santa Maria, are being counted on largely for one reason.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere were some specific weaknesses we needed to fill after evaluating last season,\u201d Miss Ford said. \u201cWe were in strong need of speed. That was a place that we did not have \u200da lot of depth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Romulo, a .300-plus hitter in each \u200dof her final two seasons at Gahr High in \u2063Cerritos, appeared\u2064 in 55 games for \u2062the Beavers last season, primarily as a pinch runner. She scored 22 runs and was 4-for-4\u2062 on stolen-base attempts.<\/p>\n<p>Like Romulo, Salazar has two seasons of eligibility remaining. She hit .429 and stole a team-high 16 bases in 20 \u200cattempts.<\/p>\n<p>A native of Kaneohe, Hawaii, who won a multitude \u200cof awards \u2064at Biola, McClinton and incoming freshman Sarah Perez are being counted \u200bon to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cal-state-fullerton-softball-program-enjoying-big-off-season\/\" title=\"CSUF Softball Program Thriving in Off-Season\">provide needed middle-infield depth<\/a>. Perez played at La Serna High in \u200cWhittier.<\/p>\n<p>Outfielder Kate Verhoef from Capistrano Valley High in Mission Viejo, catcher Addison Snyder of Valencia, and infielder-utility player Jazmin Williams of San Diego form \u200bthe remainder of a \u200bfreshmen class that has Miss Ford \u201csuper excited.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Titans, whose season-opener is scheduled for \u200bFeb. 8 at UCLA, are also \u2064expanding their coaching staff, which includes Jorge Araujo, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ncaa-investigating-asu-for-covid-19-recruiting-violations\/\" title=\"NCAA Investigating ASU For Covid-19 Recruiting Violations\">associate head coach<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Cal State\u2064 Fullerton has already announced the \u200dhiring of former Ohio State star.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cal State Fullerton&#8217;s softball program has been busy despite the season being five months away.
