However, Fontes referred to a state Supreme Court ruling\u200b from last year, \u2063which concluded that the disqualification clause of the Constitution can only be enforced\u200c through Congress.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Does a \u200c25-year-old get to be on the ballot in Arizona for president?&#8221; Fontes posed this question to the Arizona Republic. &#8220;According to the\u200c logic of the Arizona Supreme Court, \u200dthey \u2063do. That having been said, can\u2063 the Arizona Supreme Court be overturned? If somebody\u2064 brings a \u200blawsuit? Well, any \u2063law \u200ccan be\u2064 overturned in a \u2064judicial action. Now, I&#8217;m not\u2062 inviting someone to sue me, although it probably will\u200d end up happening.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Despite disagreeing with the state Supreme Court&#8217;s ruling, Fontes emphasized that it is\u200b his\u2062 duty as the state&#8217;s election chief to abide by \u200cit. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), \u2062Paul Gosar\u200d (R-AZ), and secretary \u200cof state\u2063 candidate Mark Finchem on \u2062the 2022 ballot due to their involvement in\u200b the Capitol \u2064riot, which aimed to\u200d obstruct the \u2063legal certification of\u2064 the 2020 \u2063election \u2063results.\u200d While some label the riot as an &#8220;insurrection,&#8221; no rioters \u200dfrom January\u2062 6 have\u200c been charged\u2062 with \u200cinsurrection.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, \u200bin New Hampshire, Republicans who oppose Trump are currently \u2062pushing for a ban on his candidacy. This sentiment is echoed by other Republicans, such as former Arkansas Gov.
