min-height: 50px;  text-align: center;\">  \t<script>  \t\tgoogletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1'); });  \t<\/script>  <\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-slot__ad-label\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>A video which started circulating on X, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-new-acting-attorney-general-jeff-rosen-recently-wrote-an-essay-on-foreign-influence-in-us-elections-this-tells-us-a-little-about-his-knowledge-of-whats-going-on-today\/\" title=\"The New Acting Attorney General Jeff Rosen Recently Wrote an Essay on Foreign Influence in US Elections \u2013 This Tells Us A Little About His Knowledge of What\u2019s Going On Today\">social media platform<\/a> formerly known as Twitter, showed a\u200c 12-year-old and his mother talking to an administrator from school who claimed\u2064 that \u200dthe\u2062 flag needed to be removed since the patch was \u201cdisruptive to the classroom environment,\u201d as \u2063she claimed it has \u201corigins with slavery.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cSo the reason that they do not want the flag\u200c \u2013 the\u200b reason we do not want the flag displayed \u2064\u2013 is due to its origins with slavery, and the slave trade,\u201d said the administrator.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote data-service=\"twitter\" data-category=\"marketing\" data-placeholder-image=\"https:\/\/c3.oann.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/complianz-gdpr\/assets\/images\/placeholders\/twitter-minimal.jpg\" class=\"cmplz-placeholder-element twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Meet 12yo Jaiden who was kicked out\u200d of class\u2063 yesterday\u200d in Colorado Springs\u200b for having a Gadsden flag\u2062 patch, which the school claims \u2064has &#8220;origins with slavery.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The school&#8217;s director said via email\u200d that the patch was &#8220;disruptive to the classroom environment.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>Receipts in the \ud83e\uddf5 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/qQ8jK1zSpR\">pic.twitter.com\/qQ8jK1zSpR<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Connor Boyack \ud83d\udcda\u200b (@cboyack) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cboyack\/status\/1696508336345153691?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 29, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script type=\"text\/plain\" data-service=\"twitter\" data-category=\"marketing\" async data-cmplz-src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script> <\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The seventh grader was reportedly told that the patch was \u2062against district policy and that\u2063 he couldn\u2019t return to class until he removed it. <\/p>\n<p>His mother, on the other hand, was quick to defend her son, arguing that the flag originated during the American Revolution as a symbol of the 13 colonies\u2019 fight against the British Crown and did not advocate slavery.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cIt has nothing to do with slavery, that\u2019s like the Revolutionary War patch that was displayed when they were fighting the British,\u201d the mother \u200bsaid. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The administrator then stated \u200cthat she \u200cis there just to enforce the \u200cdistrict\u2019s policy and that the mother has\u2064 the right not to \u2064agree with it but the backpack cannot return to the \u2062classroom with the patch on it.<\/p>\n<p>The\u2063 staff\u2062 member said she would put Jaiden\u2019s mother in touch with Jeff Yocum, the\u2063 Vanguard School\u2019s director of \u200doperations, as he is the one who banned the flag in the district.<\/p>\n<p>Yocum quoted graphic design specialist \u200cPaul Bruski on the\u200d flags \u200dassociations with racism.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cBecause of \u2062its creator\u2019s\u2064 history and because it is commonly flown\u200c alongside \u2018Trump 2020\u2019 flags, the Confederate battle flag and other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/middle-schooler-kicked-out-of-class-for-dont-tread-on-me-patch\/\" title=\"Middle school student expelled for wearing 'Don't Tread On Me' patch.\">white-supremacist flags<\/a>, some may now see the\u200d Gadsden flag as\u2063 a \u200bsymbol\u2063 of intolerance\u200d and hate or even racism,\u201d said Bruski.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Yocum also stated an article about a disagreement with the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission after a Postal Service employee wore \u200da Gadsden Flag cap to \u200cwork which amounted to racial discrimination.   <\/p>\n<p>Stay informed!
