Priority \u2062is given to\u2063 children living in poverty or foster care, those experiencing\u200c bullying or harassment, and those with parents or guardians serving in the military. We should not\u2063 be fighting this fight. With the\u2062 support \u2064of the Legislature, \u200dI provided the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/house-staff-budget-for-salaries-gets-21-boost-in-spending-bill\/\" title=\"House Staff Budget for Salaries Gets 21% Boost in Spending Bill\">largest funding increase<\/a> \u2064in the\u200c State&#8217;s history for public education,&#8221; \u200csaid \u2063Governor Pillen in\u200b an Aug. 30 statement.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The signatures collected\u200d will now have\u200c to be \u200dcertified by the Secretary of State. If this initiative makes it onto\u200c the 2024 ballot, I \u200dcan promise\u2062 you the \u2062fight will not\u2062 be over. I have confidence in education, both public\u2064 and private. I will\u2063 continue to make sure each \u2064student in Nebraska has \u2064the educational freedom to choose where they want to attend school.\u2063 We will\u2062 never give up on our\u2062 kids,&#8221; the\u2062 governor added.<\/p>\n<h2>Income \u200bTax \u2063Credits<\/h2>\n<p>The bill, sponsored by State Sen. Lincoln Project Founder Rick Wilson Celebrates 7 Years Since 0K Tax Lien\">income taxes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Under the legislation,\u2062 businesses and individuals can donate \u200dup to $100,000 per\u200d year, while estates \u2064and trusts \u200ccan \u2064donate up to $1 million a year.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2062bill allocates $25 million \u200ba year for two years from the state&#8217;s general\u2063 fund \u2063to cover the tax \u2064credits, \u200dstarting in 2024. \u200cAfter that, the general fund will cover up to $100 million per year \u2062in tax credits.<\/p>\n<p>Donated funds will be managed and allocated by nonprofit groups, which may retain up to 10 percent of what they \u200breceive for administrative \u200ccosts.
