Judge Parker deemed the law unconstitutional, citing its vague and overbroad nature.<\/p>\n<p>However, the \u200dcoalition of states and America First Legal group have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/supreme-court-poised-to-deliver-victory-for-school-choice-in-religious-vouchers-case\/\" title=\"Supreme Court Poised To Deliver Victory for School Choice in Religious Vouchers Case\">filed amicus briefs<\/a>, urging \u2062the U.S. Court of \u200dAppeals for the Sixth Circuit to overturn the district\u200d court ruling. Tennessee \u2064Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti has also appealed the judgment to defend the state law.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Protecting children from obscene and lewd behavior is not \u200ca new idea. We \u200bneed to let\u2064 kids be kids,\u200d and \u2064the state has legal\u2064 authority\u200d to \u200densure their protection,&#8221; said \u200cSouth Carolina\u2064 Attorney General Alan \u200dWilson.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Wilson led the coalition, which includes Alabama, Alaska, Florida, Georgia,\u200d Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana,\u200b Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, \u200cNebraska, North\u2062 Dakota, Texas, Utah,\u200d Virginia, and West Virginia.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;I\u2062 believe the \u200dCourt \u200dwrongly ruled against the law, \u200cand I&#8217;m happy to lead a coalition \u200cof support \u2063for the law on appeal,&#8221;\u200d added Wilson.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The law, signed by Tennessee Governor Bill Lee in March, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/18-state-coalition-legal-group-appeal-ruling-that-deemed-tn-law-shielding-kids-from-sexually-explicit-performances-unconstitutional\/\" title=\"18-State Coalition, Legal Group Challenge Ruling on TN Law Protecting Kids from Explicit Performances\">prohibits adult cabaret male<\/a> or\u200d female impersonators from engaging in explicit performances on public property. However, such performances can still take place in age-restricted venues.<\/p>\n<p>America First Legal, in support of the law, emphasized the importance of protecting children from harmful\u2064 content.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;No child should ever be exposed to the conduct \u200cat issue in this case \u2014 ever \u2014\u200d and\u200b it is our hope that the\u2063 Sixth Circuit overturns \u200cthe injunction in this case,&#8221; stated Gene\u2063 Hamilton,\u200d vice \u200dpresident and \u2062general\u2063 counsel of America First Legal.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The legal group argued that \u200dthe \u2064district court&#8217;s ruling allowed for the exposure of children to explicit content\u200d during\u2063 events\u200c such as &#8220;pride&#8221; parades \u200dand drag shows.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A coalition of states and a non-profit legal group have appealed a district court ruling that aimed to block a Tennessee law limiting sexually explicit performances in front of children.
