As science develops, it is impossible to deny that abortion brutally ends the life \u200cof a baby in the womb.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>Ohioans United for Reproductive Rights \u200cFile Lawsuit<\/h3>\n<p>Ohioans United for Reproductive Rights, a group advocating for abortion rights, has filed a lawsuit against the \u2062Republican-led Ohio Ballot Board.\u2062 The lawsuit challenges the use of the phrase &#8220;unborn\u2063 child&#8221; in the summary of the\u200b amendment that Ohioans will vote on in November.<\/p>\n<p>The amendment\u2062 itself grants citizens the\u2063 right to make their\u2062 own reproductive decisions, including the option of abortion. While the amendment allows the legislature to prohibit abortion after viability, it\u200b also ensures that abortion cannot be \u200bprohibited if it is deemed necessary to protect the pregnant patient&#8217;s life or health.<\/p>\n<p>Ohio Secretary of \u2063State Frank \u200dLaRose, \u200cwho \u2064is running for Ohio&#8217;s open Senate\u2063 seat in 2024, proposed the language used in the ballot summary.\u200d This language includes the phrase &#8220;unborn\u2063 child&#8221; four times, specifically\u2064 when describing the conditions under which a physician can \u200ddetermine that an abortion should be performed past viability.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit argues that the\u2064 use of \u200cthe phrase &#8220;unborn child&#8221; introduces an ethical judgment that goes beyond the scope\u2064 of the measure and creates disagreement among Ohioans\u200c about when a zygote, embryo,\u2062 or fetus becomes a &#8220;child.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In response to the \u200blawsuit, Stephen Billy states, &#8220;Abortion activists want to gatekeep voters from reading the \u2062truth and making an educated decision for themselves on what this extreme amendment\u2064 does.\u2062 It is simply too extreme for Ohioans.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, Ohioans voted \u200cagainst a measure that would have made it more difficult to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/legal-battle-erupts-over-the-term-unborn-child-in-ohio-abortion-amendment\/\" title=\"Legal fight over 'unborn child' term in Ohio abortion amendment.\">pass petition-initiated amendments<\/a>, requiring a 60% majority.
