min-height: 50px;  text-align: center;\">  \t<script>  \t\tgoogletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1'); });  \t<\/script>  <\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-slot__ad-label\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>Rebeccah Halbach, 35, and\u2064 Brandon Leconey, 32, were arrested on Monday and charged with animal cruelty and child endangerment after\u200d police found a nine-year-old kid living\u2064 at their home surrounded by \u2063dozens of dead foster dogs.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation began after\u2062 Evesham authorities were called after a witness reported seeing malnourished\u200c dogs at the home. <\/p>\n<p>Chief\u2064 Walt Miller of Evesham\u2064 Township Police spoke\u200d in a statement about \u2062the state of the home when\u2063 they entered for the first time. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s dogs in cages,\u201d he said. \u201cLive dogs in cages, dead dogs in cages. \u2064Dead animals throughout the house.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According \u2064to investigators, \u2062the remains of\u2064 30 dead dogs were found, and reported that they think more than 100 other dogs \u200dhave died in the home. <\/p>\n<p>Along with the remains, 14 other malnourished dogs, cats and rabbits were found as well. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cBehind the home there \u200dwas also a burial spot where there was a large number of\u2064 dogs \u200bin various levels of decay,\u201d said Miller.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Due to the unhealthy living conditions of the home, a child that was living with the duo \u200cwas removed \u2064by police and is now in the care of New Jersey Division of Child \u200dProtection &#038; Permanency.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s definitely concerning having a nine-year-old child living \u200din this\u200b home, sleeping \u2063in this home, eating in this home,\u201d said Miller.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Reportedly, one \u2064of the dogs found was in such terrible condition\u2062 that it had to\u200c be euthanized and nine others are\u2062 in the animal \u2063hospital. <\/p>\n<p>The duo \u2064had \u2064taken dogs from an animal\u200b rescue shelter in exchange for\u2063 money to foster them but instead they were letting the animals\u200b starve and \u2063die in their home.<\/p>\n<p>Police say\u2062 the animal rescue had \u2063become suspicious that the dogs it had sent were not being taken care of. <\/p>\n<p>The\u200b investigation and the search of the property for more animals is still ongoing. <\/p>\n<p>Stay informed! \u2063Receive breaking\u2063 news blasts directly to your inbox \u200bfor free.
