A \u200cspokesperson for the federal court in Washington, D.C., confirmed the unexpected turn of events.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. attorneys office had \u2062initially announced that the hearing, scheduled for 10 a.m., was postponed &#8220;due to an emergency.&#8221;\u200d However, the spokesperson clarified that the issue\u2063 at\u200c hand \u200dwas not actually an\u200c emergency.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Kelly has rescheduled Tarrio&#8217;s hearing for September 5, as indicated on the court&#8217;s calendar.<\/p>\n<p>Tarrio, who was convicted in May of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/proud-boy-enrique-tarrios-jan-6-sentencing-abruptly-rescheduled\/\" title=\"Enrique Tarrio's Jan. 6 sentencing rescheduled suddenly.\">rare seditious conspiracy charge<\/a> for his role in organizing a large group \u200bfor the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, is anticipated to receive a significant prison sentence that could span decades. The government has \u2064recommended a\u200c sentence of\u2064 33 years.<\/p>\n<p>Four other co-defendants, who\u2062 are also leaders \u200bof the Proud Boys, are currently scheduled to receive lengthy sentences this week. However,\u2064 it remains \u2063uncertain whether these sentences will proceed as planned.<\/p>\n<h3>Record-Breaking \u2062Sentences Sought by Prosecutors<\/h3>\n<p>Prosecutors are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ny-post-editorial-board-numbers-show-the-grim-consequences-of-manhattan-da-braggs-pro-crime-principles\/\" title=\"NY Post Editorial Board: Numbers Show the Grim Consequences of Manhattan DA Bragg\u2019s Pro-crime Principles\">seeking prison sentences<\/a> that would \u200bsurpass the longest \u200dsentence of approximately\u2063 600 handed out thus far. In May, Oath Keepers founder \u2062Stewart Rhodes received a record-breaking sentence of 18 \u2062years.<\/p>\n<p>In\u2064 May, four\u2064 out of the five defendants were found guilty of seditious conspiracy, a charge established during the \u200dCivil \u2062War, \u200das well as conspiracy to obstruct an official \u200cproceeding. These are the same charges \u200dthat former President\u200c Donald Trump \u2064is currently \u2063facing for\u2062 his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/mark-meadows-surrenders-in-fulton-county-in-trump-rico-case-with-bond-set-at-100000\/\" title=\"Mark Meadows surrenders in Fulton County for Trump RICO case, granted 0,000 bond.\">alleged illegal efforts<\/a> to overturn the 2020 election.<\/p>\n<p>All five defendants were also found \u200cguilty of obstruction of an official proceeding, destruction of federal property, and interference with police \u2063during a\u2062 civil disorder, among other charges.<\/p>\n<p>Tarrio, who was not physically present in the nation&#8217;s \u200bcapital on \u2063January\u2064 6, \u2064played a significant role\u2063 in\u200c organizing the riot. However, he was arrested a few days prior to \u200cthe event \u200dfor burning a Black Lives Matter flag and possessing two large \u200bcapacity magazines, according to \u200bhis indictment.<\/p>\n<p>Court records revealed that\u2064 during \u200dthe \u2062riot, Tarrio shared messages on the \u2062social media platform Parler, urging those at the Capitol not to leave and \u2062referring to them as &#8220;revolutionaries.&#8221; He also posted \u200ca photo of frightened\u200b lawmakers in\u2062 hiding.
