The new guidelines adopted by the Chino Valley Unified\u2063 School District in <a href=\"https:\/\/spectrumnews1.com\/ca\/la-west\/education\/2023\/07\/21\/chino-valley-school-board-approves-controversial-transgender-policy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">July<\/a> would have required schools to tell parents if their child sought changes\u200c in pronoun use, sports participation, or\u2064 bathroom assignments contrary to his or her \u2063sex.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>Protecting Students or Violating Rights?<\/h3>\n<p>The state\u2019s Democrat attorney general argues the district\u2019s new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/california-ag-wages-legal-war-to-hide-kids-transgender-pursuits-from-parents\/\" title=\"CA AG Fights to Conceal Children's Transgender Activities from Parents\">disclosure rule\u200b violates students\u2019 civil rights<\/a> and risks \u201cemotional, physical, and psychological harm.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery\u200d student has the right to learn and thrive in a school environment that promotes \u2062safety, privacy, and inclusivity \u2014 regardless of their\u200c gender identity,\u201d Bonta said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/oag.ca.gov\/news\/press-releases\/attorney-general-bonta-announces-lawsuit-challenging-chino-valley-unified-school\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">statement<\/a>. \u201cWe\u2019re in court challenging\u2064 Chino Valley Unified\u2019s\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/california-attorney-general-investigating-chino-school-district-over-gender-parental-notification-policy\/\" title=\"CA Attorney General probes Chino School District for gender parental notification policy.\">forced outing policy<\/a> \u200cfor wrongfully and unconstitutionally discriminating against and violating the privacy rights \u2062of LGBTQ+ students. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/california-sues-chino-valley-school-board-over-transgender-notification-policy\/\" title=\"California sues Chino Valley school board for transgender notification policy.\">forced outing policy wrongfully endangers<\/a> the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of non-conforming students who lack an accepting environment in the classroom and at home.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The attorney general\u2019s press release went on to disparage\u200c concerned parents and school board members as passing the measure with \u201canimosity, discrimination, and prejudice\u201d toward trans-identified students, \u201cas evidenced by statements made during the Board\u2019s hearing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn discussing the policy before its passage, board members made a \u2063number of statements describing students \u200cwho\u200b are transgender or gender-nonconforming \u2062as suffering from a \u2018mental illness,\u2019 or \u2018perversion,&#8217;\u201d the press release said. \u201cThe Board President went so far\u200d as to state that transgender and gender nonbinary individuals needed \u2018non-affirming\u2019 parental actions so that they could \u2018get\u2064 better.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>Examining the Data<\/h3>\n<p>The data, however, supports claims made \u2064by the proposal\u2019s proponents and vindicates the board president\u2019s alleged recommendation that parents adopt a cautious \u201cnon-affirming\u201d approach to their trans-identified kids.<\/p>\n<p>A 2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC6830528\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">study<\/a> found nearly 60 percent \u2062of trans-identified patients \u2064in\u2064 a more than 10,000-patient survey\u2064 were diagnosed with at least one psychiatric disorder. Meanwhile, access to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gop-candidate-dr-oz-had-repeatedly-platformed-transgender-activists-on-tv-show\/\" title=\"GOP Candidate Dr. Oz Had Repeatedly Platformed Transgender Activists on TV Show\">transgender medical interventions<\/a> \u2064has been shown\u200d to increase the risk \u200dof suicide. \u200bA <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heritage.org\/gender\/commentary\/does-gender-affirming-care-trans-kids-actually-prevent-suicide-heres-what-the\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">report<\/a> last summer from the conservative Heritage Foundation\u2063 found that \u201ceasing access to cross-sex treatments without parental\u2063 consent significantly increases suicide rates.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another major\u200c long-term study\u2063 out of Sweden showed \u2063that people who underwent transgender surgery were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC3043071\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">19 times<\/a> more likely to die by suicide than the general population.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>[RELATED:[RELATED:<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/06\/10\/science-is-on-the-side-of-those-resisting-transgender-ideology-in-schools\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Science Is On The Side\u2062 Of Those Resisting\u200d Transgender Ideology \u2064In Schools<\/a>]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>More and more detransitioners are now coming\u2062 forward to share stories of how impulsive prepubescent medical treatment left them\u200c permanently \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/02\/14\/daily-callers-damaged-documentary-highlights-the-destruction-of-discoverys-generation-drag\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">damaged<\/a>.\u201d In July, a 19-year-old \u2062detransitioner named Chloe \u200cCole, who had\u2064 a double mastectomy, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/07\/28\/highlights-from-the-house-hearing-on-transgenderism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">testified<\/a> on Capitol Hill about the \u201cnightmare\u201d she experienced as a victim \u2064of adolescent transgender \u200dideology.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s caused permanent changes\u200c to my body. My voice will forever be deeper, my\u2062 jawline sharper,\u200c my nose longer,\u201d she\u200b said. \u2064\u201cMy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-detransitioners-desperate-plea-to-congress-enough-children-already-victimized-by-this-barbaric-pseudoscience\/\" title=\"Watch: Detransitioner's Urgent Plea to Congress: 'Stop Hurting More Children with This Cruel Pseudoscience'\">bone structure permanently masculinized<\/a>. My Adam\u2019s apple more prominent. My fertility unknown. I look in \u200cthe mirror sometimes, and \u2064I feel like a monster.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yet the\u200d United States remains an outlier with its approach to trans\u2062 minor medical\u2064 treatment. Physicians have been found to \u201crubber-stamp\u201d diagnoses of gender dysphoria\u200d to approve devastating procedures.<\/p>\n<p>In June, England <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/06\/09\/health\/puberty-blockers-transgender-children-britain-nhs.html#:~:text=The%20change%20is%20part%20of,and%20hormones%20to%20clinical%20trials.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">passed<\/a> new restrictions on irreversible transgender medical\u2063 interventions for pediatric patients. Other <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/01\/30\/even-progressive-europe-wont-go-as-far-as-america-in-child-transgender-treatments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">European nations<\/a> are \u200cfollowing suit \u200das more research emerges\u200d on the dangers of premature interventions such as cross-sex hormones and \u200dsurgeries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the past few years, European health authorities\u2063 conducted systematic reviews of evidence for the benefits and risks of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones,\u201d \u200cthe City Journal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.city-journal.org\/article\/yes-europe-is-restricting-gender-affirming-care#:~:text=In%20the%20past%20few%20years,to%20restrict%20access%20to%20hormones.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> in February.\u200c \u201cThe findings from these \u200dreviews \u2014 that the certainty of benefits is very low \u2014 guided the \u2063hand \u2064of policymakers there to restrict access to hormones.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In California, however, leaders are on \u200ca crusade to establish the\u200b state as a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/california-gender-identity-sacramento-gavin-newsom-1bef273ba60e61a17960eaf8107f37f6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">haven<\/a>\u201d for gender-confused children. Last fall,\u2062 Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/09\/30\/newsom-signs-bill-to-let-california-strip-gender-confused-teens-from-parents-even-when-they-live-in-other-states\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">signed<\/a> a \u2062bill to \u201coffer refuge\u201d for out-of-state minors seeking trans \u200dmedical interventions \u2063in California without parental consent. The new law also mandates that doctors hide children\u2019s medical information\u200b related to \u2063\u201cgender identity\u201d from their parents.<\/p>\n<p>State animosity toward parents who oppose transgender ideology escalated this summer with legislation <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/2023\/06\/09\/california-bill-would-charge-any-parent-doesnt-affirm-transgenderism-child-abuse\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">drafted<\/a> in Sacramento \u2064that would charge parents with \u201cchild abuse\u201d if they don\u2019t \u201caffirm\u201d a child\u2019s \u200ctrans ideations.<\/p>\n<p>Republican state Sen. Scott Wilk bluntly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/ca-rep-warns-parents-gender-affirming-law-love-children-flee-california\">recommended<\/a> that parents \u201cflee\u201d the state over \u200cDemocrats\u2019 transgender radicalism.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the past when we\u2019ve had these discussions and I\u2019ve seen \u200cparental rights atrophy, I\u2019ve encouraged\u200b people to keep fighting,\u201d \u200dWilk \u2062said\u2064 in \u200bJune. \u201cI\u2019ve changed my mind on that,\u201d Wilk added. \u201cIf you love \u200dyour children,\u2063 you need to flee\u2064 California.
