This shift was prompted by an executive order from President Biden on his first\u2062 day in office, directing the federal\u2062 bureaucracy to embrace\u200b a DEI mindset in the execution\u2063 of\u200c American\u200d law.<\/p>\n<h3>Treasury \u200cPushes \u2064for Tax Credits to Support Clean Energy Companies<\/h3>\n<p>Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has taken steps to implement \u2063President \u2062Biden&#8217;s directive by establishing \u2062the \u200cnecessary infrastructure to oversee department-wide initiatives\u2064 that promote racial consciousness in \u200ddecision-making \u2064processes. To facilitate this, two separate offices have \u200cbeen created: the &#8220;Equity Hub,&#8221; led by economist Diane Lim, which coordinates efforts \u2063to advance equity in\u200c all of Treasury&#8217;s work, and the counselor for racial equity, Janis Bowdler, who coordinates \u200bvarious offices and workstreams intended to advance equity.<\/p>\n<p>These positions come with \u200dsignificant salaries, \u200bwith Lim earning up to $203,700 per year and Bowdler making $161,813.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This administration continues to prioritize woke,\u2062 political\u2063 agendas \u200dover \u200cthe needs of American \u2064consumers. Treasury\u200c Secretary\u200d Yellen&#8217;s focus on\u2062 counterproductive, racist programs like \u200cDEI \u200cis causing Americans to \u2062pay more for everyday essentials,&#8221; said Will Hild, Executive Director of Consumers&#8217; \u200bResearch. &#8220;Instead of patting herself\u200c on the back for introducing racial politics\u200d into the agency, the Treasury Secretary should be \u2063working towards \u200ceconomic prosperity for all consumers.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Equity\u2064 Hub&#8217;s \u2063mission statement identifies &#8220;underserved communities&#8221; as \u2063racial minorities, \u200cthose affected by climate change, and communities still grappling with the consequences of past actions and policies that hindered intergenerational financial security.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the Equity Hub, the Treasury has established the &#8220;Advisory Committee on \u2062Racial Equity,&#8221; which \u200cfocuses \u2062on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/how-janet-yellens-treasury-department-injects-dei-into-all-offices\/\" title=\"Janet Yellen's Treasury Department prioritizes DEI across all offices.\">addressing perceived racial discrimination<\/a> against nonwhite individuals in areas such as \u2062financial inclusion, capital \u2062access, housing stability, federal\u2062 government supplier diversity, and economic development.<\/p>\n<p>However, critics \u2064argue that the \u200dpush \u2062to incorporate DEI ideology into all aspects \u2062of Treasury&#8217;s work is further entrenching the federal bureaucracy. It seeks \u200bto systematically change mindsets and uses rhetorical tools to realign institutional missions.<\/p>\n<p>Recognizing the significance\u2062 of this \u200dissue, Rep.\u2064 Jim Banks (R-IN) \u200dinitiated the Anti-Woke Caucus in the House, aiming to combat wokeness not only in the Treasury \u200cDepartment but in all federal agencies.
