The policy\u2064 requires schools to inform parents if their child\u2062 wishes to identify as transgender. The complaint alleges that Mr. Bonta\u2063 misrepresented California Department \u200bof Education guidance as law\u200c and made similar misrepresentations regarding \u200cfederal law in a letter to the district. Mr. Swaim \u200dargues that the guidance is not legally binding \u200cand that\u2064 Mr. Bonta&#8217;s\u2064 claims are\u2063 misleading.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Swaim also points out that Mr.\u200d Bonta&#8217;s misinterpretations have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/federal-judge-tosses-cdcs-national-eviction-moratorium\/\" title=\"Federal Judge Tosses CDC\u2019s National Eviction Moratorium\">real-world consequences<\/a>. The district&#8217;s teachers&#8217; union\u2064 advised its members to\u200c disregard\u2062 the board&#8217;s\u200c policy, and \u200cthe union has filed an employment complaint against \u200dthe district.
