This landmark case has sparked controversy and\u2062 could \u200cresult in up \u2062to 10\u200b years of imprisonment\u200d for \u200dthe\u200d defendants.<\/p>\n<p>The \u200cactivists, \u2063who are members of the Progressive\u2064 Anti-Abortion\u2062 Uprising (PAAU), were \u200dfound\u2064 guilty of violating the\u2064 Freedom\u200b of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act. However, in\u2064 this case, the court deemed the defendants&#8217; actions as a crime of &#8220;violence,&#8221; leading to their immediate incarceration.<\/p>\n<p>Senior counsel \u2062Steve\u200c Crampton expressed outrage at the court&#8217;s decision, stating,\u2064 &#8220;The \u200ddefendants \u200cwere led out of the courtroom by\u200c an army of U.S. Marshals. \u200dThis \u200cis an\u2062 outrage.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The charges\u200d stem from an incident on October 22, 2020, when the activists entered the \u200cWashington Surgi-Clinic.
