Testosterone and other trans treatments\u200c have been linked to various health issues.<\/p>\n<p>The court ruled that the girl could proceed with the\u200c testosterone treatment and prohibited \u2064Hoogland from publicly &#8220;misgendering&#8221; his daughter. \u2063Additionally, a\u200c publication ban prevented Canadian media from mentioning Hoogland&#8217;s \u2062name in any coverage. Hoogland argued that such bans allow people to conceal the harm being\u200c done to children, despite claims that trans treatments are beneficial.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the court&#8217;s conditions, Hoogland continued to speak out and was subsequently imprisoned for contempt of court, which the Canadian court deemed &#8220;family violence.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;The hardest part is knowing\u2064 that one \u2062day\u2064 you\u2064 have \u2062a healthy child, and no matter how much you&#8217;re fighting to protect that\u2063 child of\u200b yours&#8230; all\u200c you can simply do is watch the tragedy unfold, and your hands \u2063are tied,&#8221; Hoogland expressed.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Hoogland served over two months in jail, mostly in solitary confinement. He faced additional \u200battempts to incarcerate him for four more months, \u200cbut\u200c the appeals \u2063court ruled in \u200chis favor, stating that he would not have to serve any more time \u2062or pay the fine.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;To have a punishment that&#8217;s six months in prison and a $30,000 fine&#8230; not many parents are gonna say, &#8216;Hey,\u2063 I&#8217;m willing to take that risk,'&#8221; Hoogland said, \u200bemphasizing the significance of \u200cthe appeal judgment\u200b for other parents.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Regarding his daughter, Hoogland revealed that\u2064 he has had no contact with her since\u200c 2019.
