The results uncovered some irregularities, and after undergoing additional\u200d tests, I was diagnosed \u200dwith Multiple Myeloma, a very treatable blood cancer,\u201d he said in a \u2063statement.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cI have now begun treatment, which\u200b will continue for the next several months. Scalise was unable to work on the House floor for three months due to his injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to Scalise on Tuesday,\u200c Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif) stated that \u201che\u2019s in good spirits.\u201d He also weighed in on Scalise\u2019s medical discovery.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201c[Steve Scalise] is a dear friend, and anyone who knows him knows he\u2019s a faith-filled fighter who can overcome any obstacle that stands in his way\u2026.
