min-height: 50px;  text-align: center;\">  \t<script>  \t\tgoogletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1'); });  \t<\/script>  <\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-slot__ad-label\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, a federal judge in\u2062 Wyoming dismissed a \u200clawsuit filed by members of the University of Wyoming\u2019s Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority to have a transgender\u2063 woman, who\u2063 identifies as Artemis Langford, expelled from \u200bthe Greek life organization.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote data-service=\"twitter\" data-category=\"marketing\" data-placeholder-image=\"https:\/\/c3.oann.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/complianz-gdpr\/assets\/images\/placeholders\/twitter-minimal.jpg\" class=\"cmplz-placeholder-element twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">BREAKING:<\/p>\n<p>Todd \u2064Schmidt, a man who tables at the University of Wyoming, is suing \u200cthe university president and dean\u200d of students for censoring and banning him from campus.<\/p>\n<p>In December 2022, Schmidt displayed a sign \u200breferring to transgender student Artemis Langford as &#8220;male.&#8221; The\u2026\u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/DCkkOrjV29\">pic.twitter.com\/DCkkOrjV29<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Right Side of History\u2122\ufe0f (@xxclusionary) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/xxclusionary\/status\/1690642098662383616?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August \u206313, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script type=\"text\/plain\" data-service=\"twitter\" data-category=\"marketing\" async data-cmplz-src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script> <\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Members \u2062of the sorority sued \u200dthe\u200b organization and Langford in March, claiming that Langford is a man\u200b and \u200dthat \u201cKappa Kappa Gamma limits membership to women only.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>According to the \u200cSorority\u2019s Bylaws, \u2063every new \u200cmember must be \u2018a woman.\u2019 \u201cA woman is an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/walsh-a-child-is-born-with-three-legal-dads-proving-yet-again-that-the-slippery-slope-is-real\/\" title=\"WALSH: A Child Is Born With Three Legal \u2018Dads,\u2019 Proving Yet Again That The Slippery Slope Is Real\">adult human female<\/a>. No matter how he describes himself, a \u200cgrown human male is not a woman,\u201d they stated.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit went on to state that after Langford was admitted to the sorority through votes from members and the president, however,\u2064 many of the\u200c members that lived in the house said they felt uncomfortable \u2064by \u200cLangford\u2019s behavior.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cLangford states that he is \u200btransgender and that he self-identifies as a woman. His behavior, however, does not reflect a man living as a woman let alone a man attempting to \u2018consistently live\u2019 as a woman,\u201d the complaint\u2063 said. \u201cOther\u200d than occasionally wearing women\u2019s clothing, Langford makes\u2063 little effort to\u2063 resemble a woman. He\u200c has not undergone\u2063 treatments to create a more feminine appearance, such as female hormones, \u2064feminization surgery, or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hawaii-lawmakers-advance-bill-to-force-insurance-companies-to-provide-transgender-medical-treatment\/\" title=\"Hawaii Lawmakers Advance Bill to Force Insurance Companies to Provide \u2018Transgender\u2019 Medical Treatment\">laser hair removal<\/a>. Plaintiffs often observe Langford with the \u2063facial hair one would expect on \u2062a man who either did not shave\u2064 that morning or whose facial hair has \u200bregrown by the \u2064evening.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The members putting\u2063 on the lawsuit also accused Langford of staring at\u2062 other female members and having \u201can erection visible \u200cthrough his leggings.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Reportedly, photos of text exchanges between sorority members were included in a response \u200bto the complaint, implying that \u200dthere was doubt \u200damong sisters about \u200cwhether or not the claims against Langford \u200dwere made up. <\/p>\n<p>In\u2064 one message, a member \u2064who claimed to be present in the room at the time of the alleged incident appeared to write to another member \u2064in the screenshots shown \u2062in court saying, \u201cI\u2019m pretty much 100% positive\u200c it did not happen. but also what if [redacted] actually saw\u2063 something\u200c like that\u2026 I don\u2019t want to be saying this\u2063 awful thing\u2064 didn\u2019t happen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite the accusations of the sorority sisters, a federal judge denied \u200dthe request to have Langford\u2019s membership in the chapter revoked. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThe University of Wyoming chapter voted to \u2063admit \u2013 and, more broadly, a sorority of hundreds\u2063 of thousands approved \u2013 Langford. With its inquiry beginning and ending there, the Court will not define \u2018woman\u2019 today. The delegate of a\u200d private, voluntary organization interpreted \u2018woman\u2019, otherwise undefined in the nonprofit\u2019s bylaws, expansively; this Judge may not invade Kappa Kappa Gamma\u2019s \u2062freedom of expressive\u2064 association \u2064and inject the circumscribed definition Plaintiffs urge,\u201d the judge said. \u201cHolding \u2064that Plaintiffs\u200b fail to plausibly allege their derivative, breach of contract, tortious interference, \u2062and direct claims, the Court dismisses, without prejudice, Plaintiffs\u2019 causes of action.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Reportedly, Kappa Kappa Gamma was the first sorority in the University \u2062of Wyoming\u2019s history to accept an \u200copen-transgender student into their chapter.<\/p>\n<p>Stay informed!
