Canada&#8217;s \u2062<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cnn-bans-chris-cuomo-from-covering-scandal-ridden-brother-as-criminal-investigation-starts-report\/\" title=\"CNN Bans Chris Cuomo From Covering Scandal-Ridden Brother As Criminal Investigation Starts: Report\">health department issued<\/a> the recommendations this year under left-wing Prime \u200bMinister Justin \u2064Trudeau.<\/p>\n<p>The NIAAA currently recommends that non-pregnant\u200b women have \u200cat most one drink per day\u200b and that \u200cmen have at \u2062most two. A \u2062&#8221;drink&#8221; is \u200dequivalent to one beer, one glass of wine, or one shot, according to \u200dthe agency. Those guidelines, however, are up for review in 2025, prompting Koob&#8217;s remarks.<\/p>\n<p>If alcohol consumption guidelines &#8220;go in any direction, it would be toward Canada,&#8221;\u200c Koob\u2063 told the <em>Daily Mail<\/em>. While some studies have shown that moderate red wine consumption may reduce the risk \u2063of \u2062cancer and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/research-shows-eating-a-wider-variety-of-protein-may-lower-risk-of-hypertension\/\" title=\"Research Shows Eating a Wider Variety of Protein May Lower Risk of Hypertension\">improve heart health<\/a>,\u200d Koob said\u2063 that consuming alcohol increases the likelihood of cancer and has no health\u2063 benefits.<\/p>\n<p>While Koob\u2064 has served as NIAAA director under multiple presidents, his comments mirror the Biden administration&#8217;s push for increased \u2062regulations. Richard\u2062 Trumka Jr., whom Biden \u2062appointed to the Consumer Product Safety \u200dCommission, said in January that banning gas stoves is\u2063 &#8220;on the table.&#8221; While White House\u2062 press secretary\u2064 Karine Jean-Pierre denied\u2062 that the president supports such a ban, Biden&#8217;s Energy Department \u2062in February <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/energy\/turns-out-they-are-coming-for-your-gas-stoves\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">proposed a rule<\/a> that would effectively ban half of all\u2062 gas stoves \u2062on the market, the <em>Washington Free \u200cBeacon<\/em> reported. The \u200cadministration in July <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/energy\/not-just-gas-stoves-biden-admin-rule-would-outlaw-nearly-all-portable-gas-generators\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">proposed another rule<\/a> \u2063 that\u200d would \u2063ban nearly all <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/not-just-gas-stoves-biden-admin-rule-would-outlaw-nearly-all-portable-gas-generators\/\" title=\"Biden Admin's Rule Bans Most Portable Gas Generators\">portable gas generators<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Republicans <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/republican-lawmakers-blast-biden-alcohol-czars-two-beers-week-comments-this-is-ridiculous\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tore into<\/a> the alcohol proposal,\u2063 with Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Texas) telling Fox News that &#8220;Democrats are\u2064 trying to control \u200cevery aspect of your life.&#8221; Rep.\u200c Tim Burchett (R., Tenn.), who does not drink,\u2063 said that it&#8217;s an example of &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-alcohol-czar-threatens-americans-with-canada-style-beer-limits-of-two-per-week\/\" title=\"Biden's Alcohol Czar warns of Canada-like beer restrictions: only two per week for Americans.\">overpaid unelected bureaucrats sticking<\/a> \u200ctheir\u200c fat noses somewhere it\u2062 does not belong.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Jean-Pierre on Monday dismissed a\u200c reporter&#8217;s question about Koob&#8217;s comments, though she would not say whether\u200c the administration supports \u2063such\u2062 a proposal.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Where is\u2064 this coming from?&#8221; Jean-Pierre said to \u2063Fox News&#8217;s Peter Doocy. When Doocy cited Koob&#8217;s remarks, Jean-Pierre said, \u2063&#8221;I\u2063 have no idea.\u200d I&#8217;ve not seen the\u2064 data.
