Judge Chutkan\u200c said she would keep a \u201cclose eye\u201d on the situation, whatever that means, according \u200cto\u200c Scripps.<\/p>\n<p>Lauro also \u2063said the\u2063 trial \u200bdate \u201cis \u2063inconsistent with President Trump\u2019s right to due\u2062 process and the right to\u2062 effective \u200dassistance of counsel,\u201d\u2062 CNBC reported.<\/p>\n<p>The judge \u2062arrived at the\u2062 March\u2062 4 trial\u2062 date decision\u200d following a wide spread of proposals between Trump\u2019s legal\u2063 team and federal\u2063 prosecutors under the direction \u200cof special counsel Jack Smith, CNBC said.<\/p>\n<p>The Biden administration\u2019s Department of Justice sought a \u2063January 2, 2024, trial date, but Chutkan said that\u2063 wasn\u2019t enough\u200d time for\u200b Trump\u2019s people\u2062 to prepare.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s good \u2014 after\u2062 all,\u200c even show trials have to retain some appearance of propriety.<\/p>\n<p>But \u2064the\u2063 Trump\u200c request of April, 2026, Chutkan said,\u2063 was\u2064 \u201cfar beyond what is necessary,\u201d according \u200cto CNBC.<\/p>\n<p>Of course it\u2019s beyond what is necessary.
