His claims largely \u200bmirror those <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/california\/this-is-a-ploy-california-ag-launches-probe-into-district-that-voted-to-alert-parents-if-children-identify-as-trans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">he \u2062made just weeks ago<\/a> when he launched a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/maxine-waters-asks-doj-to-investigate-alleged-rogue-violent-gang-of-deputies-within-l-a-county-sheriffs-dept\/\" title=\"Maxine Waters Asks DOJ To Investigate Alleged \u2018Rogue, Violent Gang\u2019 Of Deputies Within L.A. County Sheriff\u2019s Dept\">civil rights probe<\/a> against the district.<\/p>\n<p>Notifying parents puts\u200b &#8220;transgender and gender nonconforming students in \u2063danger of imminent, irreparable harm,&#8221; \u200cthe \u200clawsuit\u2063 claims. &#8220;These students \u200dare currently under \u2064threat of being \u200bouted to their parents or guardians against \u2063their express wishes and will.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The litigation raises the stakes in \u200dthe state&#8217;s standoff against parents \u200cover \u200dgender ideology in public schools. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JZachreson\/status\/1694189132191543323\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">At least three\u200d districts<\/a> have followed Chino\u2019s lead \u2062in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/california-sues-school-district-that-tells-parents-if-kids-are-confused-about-their-gender\/\" title=\"California sues school district over gender confusion notification to parents.\">passing parental notification policies<\/a>, and on Monday parents\u2019 rights activists filed a ballot \u200dinitiative to enshrine them statewide.<\/p>\n<p>In his lawsuit, \u2062Bonta cites\u200c surveys from the transgender activist group the Trevor Project to justify a blanket policy of secrecy toward parents, saying that &#8220;fewer \u200dthan one-in-three \u200btransgender and gender nonbinary youth found their home to\u200b be gender-affirming, or accepting of their gender identity.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Chino\u2019s \u2063school board president Sonja Shaw\u200b told \u2062the\u200c <i>Washington Free Beacon<\/i> she learned about the lawsuit from reporters, but\u200d she isn\u2019t surprised by Sacramento\u2019s aggressive stance.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Once again\u2063 this is \u200cgovernment overreach and the political cartel of Bonta, [Gov. Gavin] Newsom, and [State Superintendent Tony] Thurmond is using \u200dtheir muscle\u200c and taxpayer\u2064 dollars to shut parents out of their children\u2019s lives,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>Newsom hinted <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/california\/californias-newsom-hints-at-legislative-crackdown-on-parental-rights\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">earlier\u200d this month<\/a> that lawmakers are\u200c working on a bill to forbid \u2064notices to parents, but nothing \u2063has materialized in the last few weeks of \u2064the \u200dlegislative session.
