[O\/R]\n<p>China\u2019s finance ministry said in a brief statement on Sunday it was reducing the 0.1% duty on stock trades \u201cin \u2062order to \u200binvigorate the capital \u2063market and boost\u2063 investor confidence\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Wall Street also had an upbeat start to the week with \u2062the benchmark S&#038;P 500 index\u2064 adding\u2064 0.6%. [.N]\n<p>\u201cIt still feels like you don\u2019t want to buy Chinese equities directly\u2062 because\u200c there\u2019s still \u200ca lot of uncertainty there,\u201d said Greg Taylor, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-plans-to-unveil-advisory-warning-for-americans-doing-business-with-deteriorating-hong-kong\/\" title=\"Biden Plans To Unveil \u2018Advisory\u2019 Warning For Americans Doing Business With \u2018Deteriorating\u2019 Hong Kong\">chief investment officer<\/a> at Purpose Investments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut adding some of the derivative aspects might be more palatable for a lot of investors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The materials sector, which houses Canada\u2019s major mining firms, added\u2063 1.3%, tracking higher \u2063metal prices.
