The district&#8217;s chairman, Brent Hudson, informed two \u200bU.S. \u2064congressmen,\u200b Representatives Ben Cline and Morgan Griffith, about the rejection.<\/p>\n<p>Reps. Cline and\u2064 Griffith became aware of the DOJ&#8217;s \u2063attempt to intervene in the local political matter through a report from The \u200bDaily Wire. The DOJ claimed it\u200d had the authority to mediate due to \u200b&#8221;ongoing community tensions in Roanoke \u200dfollowing \u200dthe\u200c release of \u200dthe new model policies for transgender students.&#8221; This reference was \u2064made in\u200d relation \u2064to two leftist activists who \u2064were\u2062 arrested \u200cfor\u2064 protesting a meeting\u200b regarding the implementation of the policy.<\/p>\n<p>The congressmen urged Chairman Hudson to \u2063reject the offer, emphasizing that decisions regarding \u2063Roanoke County school matters \u2063should be made \u2062by parents, elected school \u200cboard members, and taxpayers, rather than unelected \u2062bureaucrats from\u200d Washington. Fortunately, Hudson had \u200dalready rejected the offer.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have\u200c rejected the offer \u2063from CRS and agree that it would not be in the best\u2063 interest of our community to allow them here in Roanoke County,&#8221; stated Hudson.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Cline expressed his support for \u200bthe school board&#8217;s decision, asserting that the Biden administration has no right to interfere in local affairs. However, when asked by The Daily Wire, it could not provide \u2064any evidence of\u200d hate crimes in Roanoke County related \u2064to the policy. The Community Relations Service has shown bias on transgender issues, conducting training programs for law enforcement officers on engaging with transgender communities and celebrating the \u2062&#8221;Transgender \u200bDay of Visibility&#8221; in collaboration with the DOJ&#8217;s Civil Rights\u2062 Division.<\/p>\n<p>Glenn Youngkin \u2062won Roanoke County by a significant margin in the 2021 election.
