Failure to\u2063 complete \u2063the program could result in the loss of his license to practice.\u200c Peterson, a former\u2063 University of Toronto professor of psychology, gained\u2064 widespread attention for\u2063 his 2016 lecture condemning the use of alternative pronouns\u2063 and \u200ccriticizing Canada&#8217;s laws\u2062 on gender identity\u200d or expression.<\/p>\n<div class=\"firefly-embed\">\n<\/div>\n<p>Justice Paul Schabas, writing for the court, clarified that the order does not restrict Peterson&#8217;s freedom of expression on \u2064controversial topics\u2064 and has minimal impact on his right \u200bto express himself. The court evaluated several of Peterson&#8217;s controversial comments to determine\u2064 if they\u200b complied with the College&#8217;s Standards of Professional Conduct.<\/p>\n<p>One example \u2062cited by the\u2064 court was a tweet\u2062 from \u200bJanuary \u200d2, 2022, in\u2064 which Peterson responded to concerns about overpopulation by stating, &#8220;You&#8217;re free to leave at any point.&#8221; Another \u2063instance occurred\u200c during \u2062an appearance on &#8220;The Joe Rogan Experience,&#8221; where Peterson referred to a former client\u200d as &#8220;vindictive&#8221; and dismissed their complaint as a &#8220;pack of lies.&#8221; He also made a controversial statement\u200d about \u2063air \u2063pollution and child deaths, \u2062suggesting that the world has too\u2064 many people.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally,\u200d Peterson\u200b faced backlash for a tweet in June 2022 regarding actress Elliot Page&#8217;s gender transition and \u200c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trans-man-beats-trans-woman-at-ivy-league-womens-swim-meet\/\" title=\"Trans Man Beats Trans Woman At Ivy League Women\u2019s Swim Meet\">breast removal surgery<\/a>.
