Macie told\u2063 The Epoch \u200bTimes \u2063that he\u200d began\u200d \u201ckeeping an eye on&#8221; a defense\u2063 medical \u2062database when another whistleblower\u200b alerted him to a rise in health-related incidents in the\u200c winter of 2021\/2022.<\/p>\n<p>The Defense Medical\u200c Epidemiology Database (DMED) is a depository\u200c of all diagnoses\u2014recorded using International Classification of Diseases\u200c (ICD) codes\u2014when an active\u200d service \u200bmember is seen on- or off-base\u2062 by a military or civilian\u2064 provider. The database does not include\u200c any <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/report-bill-and-melinda-gates-foundation-linked-to-chinese-company-found-to-have-mined-americans-data\/\" title=\"Report: Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation linked to Chinese company found to have mined Americans data\">personally identifiable information<\/a> of service members.<\/p>\n<p>In January, \u200cLt. Macie and his wife traveled \u2062to \u200bWashington with a report of the data he collected from DMED.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2062 showed that\u200d diagnoses of myocarditis, \u200da form\u2062 of heart inflammation, jumped 130.5 percent in 2021 when\u200b compared to the average from the years 2016 to 2020. Myocarditis is\u2062 a serious condition that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/health\/heart-inflammation-can-be-lethal-after-covid-19-vaccination-study-4900037\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">can lead<\/a> \u2063 to death.<\/p>\n<p>All four\u200b of \u2063the COVID-19\u200b vaccines authorized in the\u200b United \u2062States \u200bcan cause myocarditis, according to U.S. officials. COVID-19 can also \u2064cause myocarditis, though some experts say the data on that front is weaker.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin mandated the\u2063 vaccines in 2021,\u2064 a requirement that remained in place until\u200b Congress\u2063 forced its withdrawal in late 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The data also showed spikes in diagnoses of pulmonary embolism (41.2 percent), blood clots\u200b in the lungs, ovarian\u2062 dysfunction (38.2 percent), and &#8220;complications and ill-defined \u200bdescriptions of heart disease&#8221; (37.7 percent).<\/p>\n<h2>DMED Data<\/h2>\n<p>Lt. Macie downloaded \u2063the data almost a\u2063 year \u2064after \u2062the Pentagon said it fixed a data corruption issue with the DMED.<\/p>\n<p>In\u200d 2022, other military whistleblowers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/article\/exclusive-pentagon-responds-to-dod-whistleblowers-claim-of-spiking-disease-rates-in-the-military-after-covid-vaccine-mandate-4247785\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> shocking \u2063spikes in disease rates \u200cafter \u200bthe introduction of the COVID-19 vaccine. But the Pentagon responded that those figures were not correct\u200d because some\u200c diagnoses in the years 2016 \u200cto 2020 had not \u200cbeen counted, an issue\u2063 stemming\u200d from\u2062 &#8220;corrupt&#8221; data.<\/p>\n<p>After the Pentagon said the issue \u200bwas corrected, Lt. Macie \u200dand others\u2014including \u2062First Lt.\u200c Mark Bashaw,\u2063 a preventive \u200dmedicine officer in the Army, \u200dNavy Lt. \u2063Billy Mosley, Army Surgeon Lt. Col. \u2064Theresa Long, \u2062and Army doctor\u200b Maj.\u2062 Samuel Sigoloff\u2014noticed\u2063 that there were still \u200dconcerning \u2063signs\u2063 of increases in \u2063diagnoses, such as myocarditis and pulmonary embolism.<\/p>\n<p>Since word spread that Lt. Macie was the only <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/exclusive-whistleblower-who-disclosed-myocarditis-spike-in-military-after-covid-vaccine-goes-public\/\" title=\"Whistleblower Reveals Myocarditis Surge in Military Post COVID Vaccine\">active-duty \u2064member<\/a> at \u200bhis command \u2062who didn\u2019t receive the COVID-19 vaccine, and was actively suing the secretary of defense, Lt. Macie said people began to come to him in confidence telling him about\u200c adverse reactions, which they\u200d were convinced were \u201cfrom\u200d the \u200cshot,\u201d he \u2062said. \u2062\u201cThese anecdotal, but compelling \u2064personal injuries, were a motivator to get things on the right track.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Confirmation from the Pentagon<\/h2>\n<p>After verifying Lt. Macie&#8217;s report with the Senate Subcommittee on Investigations, Sen. \u2062Ron Johnson (R-Wis.),\u2064 the top Republican on that panel, sent a letter (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/23719955-johnson-letter-to-austin-on-dmed-data\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pdf<\/a>) to Mr.\u2064 Austin in\u2064 March asking the Pentagon to confirm Lt. Macie&#8217;s data.<\/p>\n<p>Lt. Macie had\u200c suspected the Pentagon would not respond, based \u200bon his experience \u200dof\u200b previous requests made within the department going unfulfilled.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the event our\u2063 suspicions were correct, I kept additional data \u200bto reveal as soon \u2063as the data we brought [to Washington] was confirmed, or after being ignored for some time,\u201d \u200dhe said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMuch to my\u2062 surprise,\u201d said Lt. Macie, the \u2064Pentagon, in \u200da July reply (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/23882933-sen-johnson-letter-to-pentagon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pdf<\/a>)\u2062 to \u200bMr. Johnson&#8217;s letter, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/us\/us-military-confirms-myocarditis-spiked-after-covid-vaccine-introduction-5411759?utm_source=epochHG&#038;utm_campaign=CFP&#038;src_src=epochHG&#038;src_cmp=CFP\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">confirmed<\/a> that his data \u200dwas accurate.<\/p>\n<p>In the Pentagon&#8217;s response, Gilbert Cisneros\u2062 Jr.,\u200b undersecretary of defense for personnel and readiness, pointed to data on the rate of cases per 100,000 person-years, a way \u2062to measure risk \u2064across a certain period of time. \u2063For almost all \u2063the conditions that showed \u200ban increase in cases in 2021, he stated,\u200b the new case rate was\u200c higher for \u200dservice members with a prior COVID-19 infection than \u2063for those with\u200c a prior COVID-19 vaccination.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This suggests that it was more likely \u200cto \u200dbe [COVID-19] infection and not COVID-19 vaccination that was the cause,&#8221; Mr. Cisneros\u200d stated.<\/p>\n<p>Lt. Macie said he plans to bring \u200dthe additional\u2062 data he kept &#8220;up my chain of command \u2062with \u200dthe\u200c aim of a resolution and \u2064validation for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-gary-sinise-foundation-celebrates-10-years-of-service\/\" title=\"WATCH: Gary Sinise Foundation Celebrates 10 Years Of Service\">injured service members<\/a>, but I\u2019m not holding my breath.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Lt. Macie has also brought this\u2063 new data to the office\u2062 of Rep. Matt Gaetz \u200d(R-Fla.), hoping to\u200c get the attention of the House Armed\u200b Services Committee, a panel Mr. Gaetz sits on. Lt. Macie is not aware of what Mr.\u2062 Gaetz and his staff will do, but \u200bthe lawmaker&#8217;s office acknowledged in June\u2062 that \u201cthey will take a look,\u201d he said. The Epoch Times has reached out to Mr. Gaetz&#8217;s office for comment.<\/p>\n<h2>Rise in Accidents, Self-Harm<\/h2>\n<p>According to \u200chis research, health-related incidents in 2021 rose substantially above the five-year average from 2016\u2062 to\u200b 2020. \u201cAs some may expect,\u201d he \u2064said, \u201cinternal \u200binjuries like \u2064myocarditis (130 percent), tinnitus (42 percent), and\u2064 cerebral infarction (stroke)\u2063 (43.5 percent) are on the rise.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But it was Macie\u2019s\u200b wife who became curious, asking \u2063about other types of\u200d injuries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat about external cause morbidities, like burns, accidents, self-inflicted harm, and injuries that are \u2063not expected to be\u2064 associated with the\u2063 COVID shot?\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>With the\u2064 new data he discovered, the following incidents exhibited increases in 2021 above the five-year average: exposure to forces\u2063 of\u2064 nature (773 percent), water transport accidents (7,400 percent), land transport\u2062 vehicle (526 percent), suicide attempts (33 percent), assault \u2063(828\u2063 percent), slipping, tripping, stumble and fall.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>information indicating that the military&#8217;s official numbers on vaccine adverse events are significantly underreported.
