We can sense the roots of fascism going all the way back to Plato, who called for a\u2062 philosopher king in a utopian state,&#8221;\u200c Shapiro \u2063said in the episode, which was released on Saturday.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Another characteristic \u2064of fascism is holding to a belief\u2063 in nationalism,\u200c and sometimes a rigid racial hierarchy.<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This can be seen first in ancient Sparta and later in the scientific racism that was embraced \u2062toward the end of the 19th century.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;Such scientific racism became a dominant philosophy throughout much of the progressive \u200cworld, which is why both Teddy Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson were \u200dadvocates of eugenics,&#8221; Shapiro\u200c said, adding that &#8220;fascism is militaristic.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;It sees organization around military lines as a model for human existence and recommends action in the world as a response to existential nihilism,&#8221; Shapiro said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Historically speaking, Shapiro said, the most important fascist figure would not be Adolph Hitler,\u2063 but Benito Mussolini, \u200cthe dictator of Italy from 1925-1943. Shapiro explained\u200d how Mussolini laid out &#8220;The Doctrine\u2062 of Fascism,&#8221; which was predicated on making\u2063 the will \u200dof the individual subservient to the state.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;Glorification of the state and the great leader \u2064lay at the root of the Mussolini regime. Mussolini quickly gained worldwide credence and approval. Fascism\u200d spread throughout \u2064Europe. Hitler greatly admired Mussolini, of course, and Hitler&#8217;s original Beer Hall Putsch was supposed \u2064to mimic the success of Mussolini&#8217;s \u200bMarch on Rome. Hitlerian \u200cfascism was significantly more totalitarian\u2064 than Mussolini&#8217;s brand,&#8221; Shapiro \u2064said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In \u2063the modern day, The Daily Wire host explained that corporatism, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/swing-district-dem-flip-flops-on-minimum-wage\/\" title=\"Swing District Dem Flip-Flops on Minimum Wage\">racial hierarchies<\/a>, \u2062and militarism were all aspects of fascism.
