He \u2064explained that while flu vaccines have \u200ba long \u200dtrack record \u200dand their safety is\u200b well understood, the\u200b same cannot be said for the new \u2063COVID vaccine.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Not requiring randomized trial evidence for updating the vaccine\u2064 is irresponsible. It&#8217;s using a different\u2063 mechanism than the flu vaccine.
