The\u2063 other\u200d two\u2064 movies in front of \u201cOppenheimer\u201d \u2063are \u201cBarbie\u201d with $1.29 billion and \u201cThe Super Mario Bros. Movie\u201d with $1.36 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Disney\u2019s other releases fell\u200c short of expectations, coming nowhere near \u201cOppenheimer\u2019s\u201d $725 million mark.<\/p>\n<p>These\u200b big-budget films included the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/disney-cancels-gina-carano-over-tweets-while-ignoring-far-worse-from-others\/\" title=\"Disney Cancels Gina Carano Over Tweets While Ignoring Far Worse From Others\">live-action remake<\/a> \u2063of \u201cThe Little Mermaid,\u201d Marvel\u2019s \u201cAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,\u201d Pixar\u2019s \u201cElementals,\u201d Lucasfilm\u2019s \u201cIndiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny\u201d and \u201cHaunted Mansion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So far, \u201cOppenheimer\u201d has grossed\u2064 $289 million domestically and $435 million overseas.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from 2023 milestones, the $725\u200c million gross \u200dplaces it at \u2064No. 5 all time in global box office for R-rated movies, replacing the 2017 horror adaptation \u201cIt.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The four R-rated films ahead of \u201cOppenheimer\u201d\u200d are \u201cThe Matrix Reloaded\u201d at $738 million, \u201cDeadpool\u201d at $781 million, \u201cDeadpool 2\u201d at $786 million\u200d and\u200d \u201cJoker\u201d at $1.066 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Domestically, \u201cOppenheimer\u201d is in seventh place behind the following R-rated films: \u201cDeadpool 2,\u201d \u201cIt,\u201d \u201cJoker,\u201d \u201cAmerican Sniper,\u201d \u201cDeadpool\u201d and \u200b\u201cThe Passion of the Christ\u201d at No. 1.<\/p>\n<p>For a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/oppenheimer-reaches-new-milestone-destroys-disney-at-box-office-despite-r-rating\/\" title=\"'Oppenheimer' Crushes Disney at Box Office, Defying R Rating\">dialogue-heavy war biopic<\/a>,\u2062 Nolan\u2019s latest has surprisingly good legs\u200d at the box office, especially against Disney.<\/p>\n<p>Disney has put out six\u2062 movies \u200cso far\u2062 this \u200byear but failed to turn a profit on five of them. Robert Oppenheimer (Cillian Murphy), a theoretical physicist\u2062 tasked with supervising the creation of the atomic bomb\u2062 to end \u2064World War II.
