Amber Longacre, a concerned parent, refused to comply with the request, sparking a complaint against the school.<\/p>\n<p>On August\u200d 15, Longacre attempted to visit Kitty Hawk Middle School near San Antonio. However, she was approached \u200dby several <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/white-house-undermines-cdc-on-school-reopenings\/\" title=\"White House Undermines CDC on School Reopenings\">school staff members<\/a> and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/maryland-parents-demand-schools-defund-school-resource-officers\/\" title=\"Maryland Parents Demand Schools \u2018Defund\u2019 School Resource Officers\">school resource officer<\/a> who insisted she sign an NDA before entering the premises. Longacre&#8217;s lawyer, Janelle Davis, revealed that they were not given the opportunity to discuss the document before being denied entry.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;They were\u2064 like, &#8216;Just sign it. What&#8217;s the big deal? Just sign it,'&#8221; Davis \u2062told the New York Post.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Despite the pressure, Longacre stood her ground and \u2064refused to sign the\u2064 NDA.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;There is no way to know how many parents\u2063 signed the NDA without asking any questions,&#8221; Longacre \u200bexpressed. &#8220;I shared my story because I \u2062want to encourage other parents to speak up when\u2062 something\u200b seems off.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Longacre also felt \u200bthat the school was hiding information from\u2064 her, leaving her feeling &#8220;backed into a corner.&#8221; In an attempt to address the issue, she had a meeting with Assistant\u200b Superintendent\u2063 of Operations Joseph Guidry, which she recorded. However, \u2064Guidry \u2062failed to provide a\u200c clear explanation for the NDA&#8217;s\u200b purpose or its presence in \u2064the check-in kiosks at the \u200badministration building.<\/p>\n<p>Following the incident, Longacre filed a complaint with the Judson Independent School \u200cDistrict regarding the\u2064 NDA policy. Fortunately, on August 22, the \u200cschool district informed Longacre that the NDA was no longer required for check-in and acknowledged that it was a \u200bdefault document in the visitor system. As a \u200dresult, Longacre&#8217;s \u2064attorney confirmed that they would not <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/senate-committee-deadlocks-on-becerra-nomination\/\" title=\"Senate Committee Deadlocks on Becerra Nomination\">pursue legal action<\/a> since the district removed the\u200c NDA and agreed to revoke any previously signed NDAs by parents.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;I am\u200c grateful that Judson ISD recognized the\u2062 error and removed \u2063the non-disclosure agreement from their visitor management system, and look forward to a good school year,&#8221; Longacre expressed.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>Transparency in Public Schools:\u2063 A Growing Concern<\/h3>\n<p>This incident highlights the\u200d increasing concern among parents regarding transparency in public schools.
