The\u2062 Air National Guard\u2019s 162<sup>nd<\/sup> wing will be in charge\u200b of the \u2064training.<\/p>\n<p>Ryder stated that the training will be in \u201csupport of the international \u2062effort\u201d to help strengthen Ukraine\u2019s defenses for the long-term.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThe training\u200d provided\u200c by the United States will complement the F-16 pilot and maintenance training that\u2019s \u200balready \u2064underway in Europe \u200band further \u200cdeepens our support of the\u2064 F-16 training coalition led by Denmark and\u200b the Netherlands,\u201d Ryder\u2063 said. \u201cMoving forward we will remain in close consultation with the Danes, the Dutch and other\u200b allies to ensure U.S. training \u200dcomplements\u2063 the \u200cbroader \u200bcoalition training \u200defforts.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Ryder also said that the training will likely take several months before the pilots are ready to operate and maintain the aircrafts.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cPart \u2064of\u200d this \u2064training will be assessing the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/u-s-set-to-begin-f-16-training-for-ukrainian-pilots\/\" title=\"US to train Ukrainian pilots on F-16 jets.\">individual pilots\u2019 skill level<\/a>, which will determine help to determine how\u200d long that \u2063training will last,\u201d\u2062 he said. \u201cYour\u2064 basic, new F-16 pilot\u200b with not \u2063a lot \u200cof \u2062training \u2064on the \u2062U.S. side, that training typically lasts about eight months.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>He\u200c said that the training for the more advanced and experience pilots will take around five months.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the flight training, Ryder stated that the F-16s will\u200b require significant logistics and maintenance \u2064training\u200b in order for ground personnel to\u200b be able to keep the aircrafts combat ready.<\/p>\n<p>In conjunction to the training \u200bthat will \u200cbe conducted\u2062 by the U.S.,\u200d Norway has \u200bjoined other nations like the\u200c Netherlands\u200b and Denmark in announcing \u200cthat\u200d they intend to provide Ukraine with F-16\u2063 fighter \u2063jets from\u2064 their own <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/d-c-police-identify-calif-woman-killed-during-demonstration\/\" title=\"D.C. Police identify Calif. woman killed during demonstration\">air force<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The\u200c announcement\u2063 from\u2063 Norway came after it \u2064was confirmed that \u200dthe\u2064 nation will be\u00a0replacing its F-16s with the newer Lockheed Martin F-35 stealth fighters.<\/p>\n<p>Ukrainian air force brigadier general Serhii Golubtsov said that\u2064 the delivery of the F-16s from the various nations will be enough to \u201ctransform\u201d \u200bthe Ukrainian air force. He has previously stated \u200dthat they require \u201cat least 12 to16 planes\u201d in order \u200cto \u201cplan an operation\u201d and be effective.<\/p>\n<p>Secretary of\u2063 Defense Lloyd J. Austin III stated that the U.S.\u200d remains \u201csteadfast\u201d in the commitment to Ukraine as it \u200ccelebrates its 32<sup>nd<\/sup> anniversary of \u200bindependence, \u2062and that the \u200bsupport will continue for \u201cas long as it\u2064 takes.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThe Ukrainian people have inspired the world with their courage and resolve \u2063to defend their right to live in a sovereign,\u200c democratic and free country,\u201d he said. \u201cToday, as Ukraine commemorates\u2064 another\u200d year of independence,\u200c the United States remains \u2064steadfast in\u2063 our commitment to \u2062ensure that it can celebrate many more.
