Now The Biden Administration Is Doing The Same Thing.\">lawful permanent residents<\/a>, and alleged that refugees that did apply were ignored.<\/p>\n<p>According to the lawsuit, a June\u2064 2020 \u200bpost on X by \u2063CEO Musk \u200bhad \u2064been cited which said\u200b that the \u201cU.S. law requires at \u200cleast a green card to be hired at\u200d SpaceX, as rockets are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/israel-strikes-terrorists-in-lebanon-after-rocket-attack\/\" title=\"Israel Strikes Terrorists in Lebanon After Rocket Attack\">advanced weapons technology<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote data-service=\"twitter\" data-category=\"marketing\" data-placeholder-image=\"https:\/\/c3.oann.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/complianz-gdpr\/assets\/images\/placeholders\/twitter-minimal.jpg\" class=\"cmplz-placeholder-element twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">US law requires at \u2062least \u200ba \u200bgreen card to \u200bbe hired at SpaceX, as rockets are considered advanced weapons technology<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Elon Musk \u200b(@elonmusk) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1272973320586055682?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 16, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script type=\"text\/plain\" data-service=\"twitter\" data-category=\"marketing\" async data-cmplz-src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script> <\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>SpaceX argued that the International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulation prohibited the company\u2063 from hiring non-citizens. However, according to the lawsuit, the Justice Department \u2063stated \u2062that those pieces of legislation \u200btreat\u2064 refugees and those who have been granted\u200d asylum \u201cjust like U.S. citizens.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Immigration Attorney Jonathan Grode claimed \u200cthat\u2063 companies like SpaceX are not prohibited\u200d from\u200c hiring foreign nationals. However, he said that they do have to seek certain \u2063visas for refugees or obtain\u200b government approval when it comes to ITAR restrictions.<\/p>\n<p>Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke, who is part of the Justice \u2062Department\u2019s civil rights division, said a DOJ investigation found that SpaceX \u201cfailed to fairly consider or hire asylees and refugees because of their citizenship status and imposed what\u200c amounted to a ban on their hire regardless of their qualification, in violation of federal law\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Clarke \u2063continued \u200dby stating that SpaceX recruiters and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/doj-sues-spacex-over-alleged-discriminatory-hiring-practices\/\" title=\"DOJ sues SpaceX for alleged hiring discrimination.\">high-level managers \u201cactively\u2062 discouraged\u201d\u2062 asylum seekers<\/a> and refugees from applying for jobs at \u2063the corporation.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit also seeks monetary penalties, which the court will determine how much, to \u200bguarantee that SpaceX\u200d continues\u200d to comply with the federal non-discrimination \u200brule.<\/p>\n<p>Stay informed!
