Although relatively rare in\u200c the United States, tuberculosis is more common in third-world and developing\u200b countries. As a result, two TB-related conditions exist: latent\u2062 TB infection (LTBI) \u2062and TB disease. If not treated properly, \u2062TB disease can be fatal,&#8221; the CDC states.<\/p>\n<p>Officials highlight that tuberculosis treatment typically involves a lengthy and intensive course of several different strong antibiotics.
