This is just\u200d the latest example of \u200cDemocrats holding\u200b carmakers responsible\u2063 for the \u2063increase in car thefts.<\/p>\n<p>The city claims that Kia and Hyundai failed \u2062to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/chicago-sues-automakers-for-car-theft-spike\/\" title=\"Chicago files lawsuit against automakers over surge in car thefts.\">install effective anti-theft technology<\/a> that could have deterred\u200c thieves. According to the \u2064 <i>Chicago Sun-Times<\/i>, online videos have shown \u200dthieves using USB plugs to start the cars, a security vulnerability that\u2064 the carmakers\u200b could have easily prevented.<\/p>\n<p>However, it&#8217;s worth noting \u200bthat crime rates in Chicago have been \u2064skyrocketing since Mayor Brandon Johnson, a far-left Democrat, took office in May. The <i>Center \u2063Square<\/i> reported that \u200coverall crime increased by 38 percent from May to \u200bJune alone,\u2064 with car\u2062 thefts shooting \u2062up by 153 percent compared to the previous year. Johnson, who has\u2064 advocated for defunding the police, \u2064was elected on a soft-on-crime platform.<\/p>\n<p>Under Johnson&#8217;s leadership, the city has\u200c been plagued by constant \u2062violence, with numerous injuries and fatalities occurring during violent weekends throughout the summer. In response to the \u2064bloodshed,\u200c one Chicago Democrat even made the absurd request for gang members to limit their shootings and murders to nighttime.<\/p>\n<p>In a separate incident, Illinois&#8217;s top court recently upheld \u2063a\u200d Democratic bill \u2062that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/coming-bail-reform-law-has-illinois-prosecutors-in-a-panic\/\" title=\"Coming Bail Reform Law Has Illinois Prosecutors in a Panic\">eliminates cash bail<\/a> for all crimes, further contributing to the lawlessness in the city.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, Johnson is not\u200b the only Democrat blaming Kia \u200cand Hyundai\u2063 for the surge in car thefts. \u2063California Attorney General Rob Bonta also accused the carmakers of \u2064not installing adequate anti-theft technology, conveniently ignoring the \u200cfact that homicides, property \u2063crime,\u2063 and violent crime\u2062 all\u200c increased during his first year \u2063in \u2064office.<\/p>\n<p>New\u200c York City has\u2064 also joined the legal action against the carmakers,\u200b citing their\u200c role \u200bin enabling a &#8220;spiraling \u200bepidemic&#8221; of car thefts, as reported by CNBC.<\/p>\n<p>Kia spokesman James Bell dismissed the lawsuits as baseless,\u2064 stating that government agencies have \u2062already cleared the\u2064 vehicles in question. Hyundai spokesman Ira Gabriel\u2064 highlighted the company&#8217;s\u200c efforts to\u200d update \u200btheir <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/california-attorney-general-blames-automakers-for-car-theft-spike\/\" title=\"California Attorney General Blames Automakers for Car Theft Spike\">anti-theft software<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Democratic leaders in Chicago have filed a lawsuit against Kia and Hyundai, accusing them of not implementing effective anti-theft technology in their vehicles.
