Because interesting times are fraught with chaos, instability, and (often violent) social upheaval.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, \u2064the Republicans had their first primary debate \u2014 \u2064without Donald Trump,\u2063 who instead gave an exclusive \u200dinterview to Tucker Carlson on X, formerly Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>In the interview, Carlson asked\u2064 Trump a question that reflects the \u2062<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-solomon-islands-dangerous-game\/\" title=\"The Solomon Islands\u2019 Dangerous Game\">deeply held concerns<\/a>\u2064 of many Americans.<\/p>\n<h3>\u201cDo you \u2064think we\u2019re moving toward civil war?\u201d<\/h3>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Tucker\u200b asks Trump: \u200d\u201cDo you think we\u2019re moving towards Civil War?\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Biznn9hmqj\">pic.twitter.com\/Biznn9hmqj<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Charlie Kirk (@charliekirk11) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/charliekirk11\/status\/1694533355675763029?\">August 24, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>As is clear from \u200dhis answer, the issue is tied in Trump\u2019s mind\u2064 to the events \u200dof\u2063 Jan.\u2062 6.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo \u200bdo \u2064you think it\u2019s possible that there\u2019s open conflict? We \u2064seem to be moving toward something,\u201d Carlson \u2063pressed Trump.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t \u2064know,\u201d Trump said. \u201cYou know, I can say this: There\u2019s\u200d a level of passion that I\u2019ve never seen. There\u2019s a level of hatred \u2064that I\u2019ve never seen. And \u200dthat\u2019s probably a bad \u2064combination.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The polarization of the country is well known, but many of us who have dabbled in ministry \u200cor apologetics, especially \u2062at the academic level, have \u200dknown for years that this was coming.<\/p>\n<p>I can \u200ddistinctly remember a time when secularist atheists would debate their utilitarian\u200b ethics and materialist worldview openly with Christians (see an example here).<\/p>\n<p>However, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/tucker-asks-trump-the-question-in-the-back-of-everyones-mind-are-we-heading-toward-civil-war\/\" title=\"Tucker asks Trump: Are we on the path to civil war?\">shift started happening years<\/a> before Trump was even elected. A new Marxism, a cultural Marxism, had emerged\u2063 that did not want to debate anymore.<\/p>\n<p>For the\u2062 new Marxists, the debate was over long ago. Those\u200c who stood against progress were evil, \u2064and as such no respect, civility, or even basic rights \u200ccould ever be \u200cafforded to them.<\/p>\n<p>They embraced the straw men that Christians\u200c often made \u2063of where their\u200d secularism would lead. They want to burn it all down.<\/p>\n<p>If \u200bthe war between\u2064 the states in the 1860s \u2014 between two \u200csides that were both Western, Christian, \u200band American \u2014 was inevitable, how much more so the\u2063 conflict in which we now find ourselves?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what \u2063partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light \u2063with darkness? What accord has\u200d Christ with Belial? Or \u200dwhat portion does a believer \u2062share with an unbeliever? What agreement has \u200bthe\u200d temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God\u201d (2 Corinthians 6:14-16).<\/p>\n<p>These two\u200b worldviews \u2014 that of the\u200d Christian and that of the unbeliever (in all\u2063 of its manifestations) \u2014 cannot be bound together in peace and unity.<\/p>\n<p>A person who believes one can murder children cannot be bound to someone \u200bwho believes in the sanctity of life.<\/p>\n<p>A person who believes that men \u2063can \u200dhave babies\u2064 and women can have\u2064 penises cannot be bound to someone who\u200d believes God\u200c made man in \u2063his image, male and female.<\/p>\n<p>A person who worships the natural world, \u200bscience, and the \u201cexperts\u201d \u200cin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/after-teachers-claimed-they-were-too-scared-to-work-many-never-got-vaccinated\/\" title=\"After Teachers Claimed They Were Too Scared To Work, Many Never Got Vaccinated\">white lab coats<\/a> and thinks\u2063 he can derive\u2064 morals from such cannot\u2062 be bound to someone who bows\u2063 to Christ and the authority of his Word and church.<\/p>\n<p>You get the idea.<\/p>\n<p>If the first civil war \u200bwas an irresolvable conflict over the constitutionality of secession and the institution of slavery, then our new civil war \u2063is far more necessary, unavoidable, and stark in its divisions.<\/p>\n<p>Our \u2064war is \u200dbetween good and evil itself, freedom and \u2063tyranny. Of course passion and hatred exist in \u2063such an environment!<\/p>\n<p>In\u200d a nation that allows \u2064individuals to live according to their own beliefs and ethics\u2064 (at least that\u2019s how it came to be interpreted by the Supreme Court), irreconcilable worldviews eventually coming into conflict seems a foregone conclusion that a toddler could have predicted.<\/p>\n<p>Abraham Lincoln\u2063 said in his Lyceum address:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt what point then is the approach of\u200d danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot \u2064come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves \u200dbe its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We are now at \u2062that point.
