So, if\u200d [alcohol consumption guidelines] go in any direction, it would be toward Canada,\u201d \u200cKoob\u2062 said, according to the Daily Mail <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/health\/article-12438233\/Americans-limited-two-beers-strict-new-alcohol-guidelines-Bidens-booze-czar.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>. \u201cIf there\u2019s health\u2063 benefits, I think people will \u2062start to re-evaluate where we\u2019re at.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost of the benefits people attribute \u200bto\u200b alcohol, we feel \u200bthey really have more to do with what someone\u2019s eating rather than\u200b what they\u2019re drinking,\u201d Koob stated. \u201cSo\u2063 it really has to do with the \u200cMediterranean diet, socio-economic\u2063 status, \u2062that makes you \u200bable\u200d to afford that kind of diet and make your own fresh food and\u200d so\u2064 forth. With this \u200bin mind, most of the benefits kind of disappear on the health \u200dside.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>The Current Guidelines<\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dietaryguidelines.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/2021-03\/Dietary_Guidelines_for_Americans-2020-2025.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-domain-ext=\"gov\">Dietary Guidelines for Americans<\/a> (2020-2025), part of\u2064 the USDA, currently \u200c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-health-czar-dietary-guidelines-should-be-like-canadas-less-beer\/\" title=\"Biden's Health Czar: Dietary Guidelines Should Mirror Canada's, Less Beer.\">recommends limiting \u2063drink \u2063intake<\/a>\u200c to two drinks or less per day:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><em>One alcoholic drink equivalent is defined as containing 14 grams (0.6 fl oz) of pure alcohol.The following count as one alcoholic drink equivalent: 12 fluid ounces of regular beer (5% \u200calcohol), 5 fluid ounces of\u200b wine (12% alcohol),\u2063 or 1.5 fluid ounces of 80 proof distilled spirits (40% alcohol).
