According to an FDA spokesperson, these vaccines with a monovalent XBB.1.5 composition \u2064will provide\u200c the best available \u200bprotection against the\u2062 most serious consequences of the\u2063 disease\u2062 resulting from currently circulating variants.<\/p>\n<p>The FDA&#8217;s statement comes in response to concerns raised by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) about a new subvariant that may have \u200dan increased ability to escape\u200c immunity.<\/p>\n<p>The FDA, however, \u200dhas not provided \u2062any evidence to support their\u200c belief that the newly\u200c formulated vaccines will protect against COVID-19 illness.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, the FDA directed Pfizer,\u2064 Moderna, and Novavax to update\u200c their shots to focus on XBB.1.5, one\u2062 of the Omicron subvariants, due to the waning effectiveness of the\u2063 shots.<\/p>\n<p>Despite this, XBB.1.5 has since \u200dbeen largely displaced by other subvariants, including FL.1.5.1 and EG.5, according to\u200d CDC genomic surveillance.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Harvey Risch, professor emeritus \u200bof epidemiology at the Yale School of Public Health, expressed concerns that\u200b the boosters will be\u2062 out-of-date\u200b before they \u200dare even released.<\/p>\n<p>The vaccine manufacturers claim that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fda-believes-next-covid-19-vaccines-will-protect-against-new-variants\/\" title=\"FDA expects new COVID-19 vaccines to safeguard against emerging variants.\">updated shots trigger higher levels<\/a> of neutralizing antibodies, which are believed to be \u2063a marker of protection\u2062 against COVID-19. This system allows manufacturers to update \u200bshots\u200c on an annual basis based on estimates of prevalent strains, without the need for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/despite-insistence-by-democrat-politicians-and-medical-elites-empirical-evidence-does-not-conclusively-show-that-masks-reduce-the-spread-of-covid\/\" title=\"Despite Insistence by Democrat Politicians and Medical Elites, Empirical Evidence DOES NOT Conclusively Show that Masks Reduce the Spread of COVID\">clinical trials<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Pfizer, Moderna, and Novavax have all requested FDA\u200d clearance\u200b for their updated\u2062 shots, and\u2062 the FDA \u200bhas rarely\u200d turned \u2063down such requests during the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>The\u2062 shots are expected\u200d to \u200bbe available in mid-September, \u2064pending FDA \u200band CDC action.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. \u2064Vinay Prasad, a professor at the University of California, San Francisco\u2019s Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, \u200bcriticized \u2063the U.S. government&#8217;s approach to COVID-19 vaccines.
