And in fact,\u2062 he had already\u200c spoken to the nation about Maui at \u200bthat point, in addition \u2063to being in daily contact with senior staff, FEMA,\u2063 and state officials as he marshaled a whole-of-government\u200b response to the fires.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>While Biden was\u200b vacationing in Rehoboth, Delaware, \u200don Aug. 13, a reporter shouted a question about the\u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/how-to-show-lockdowns-are-killing-more-people-than-the-virus\/\" title=\"How To Show Lockdowns Are Killing More People Than The Virus\">rising death toll<\/a> in Hawaii. &#8220;No comment,&#8221; the president replied.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2063White House&#8217;s explanation that Biden didn&#8217;t hear the\u2062 question comes as the president is\u2064 already facing scrutiny over his age and\u200b mental acuity. A majority of Americans believe \u200dBiden would \u2064not make it through a second term, according to a Harvard Caps\/Harris poll \u2063conducted in May.<\/p>\n<p>The\u2063 administration has faced criticism for its response to the fires. After he first\u200d addressed \u2062the disaster at the beginning of the\u200b month, Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/latest-news\/biden-commits-to-visiting-fire-ravaged-hawaii-after-days-of-silence\/\">went<\/a> four days without commenting on it again.
